We abandoned podio a long time ago for this reason unfortunately. They have some sacred bond with their gantt chart provider. Check out TaskWorld.

I found bendixkiel to be a sub par offering. If your looking for a solution that still integrates with some of your existing tools and you work with Google drive the Gantter app is a good stop gap...

As for the third party site the best thing about podio is everything in one place. I'd like to keep it that way.

Another +1 for Gantt. Podio is so close to solving all my project management needs but Gantt could be a deal breaker.
