Update relationship field item without replacing existing items

Hello,

I have been using this calculation for updating a category field item without replacing the existing selections:

[CATEGORY FIELD].",item"

How do I do the same with a relationship field? I want the system to automatically add another item and not replace the existing item.

  You can apply the same logic within PWA for relationship fields by appending the "Podio Item ID" of the new item, eg within your update brick you choose "calc" instead of "value" and set the relationship field to :

  [RELATIONSHIP FIELD] = [RELATIONSHIP FIELD] . ", " . Podio Item ID

  I am trying to do this on a mass upload. I have a Contacts app and a Communications app connected through a relationship field. The communications app is used to track communications with each contact. I am trying to mass update a list of contacts via upload to note that they all received a specific email blast. How do I do this without replacing the multiple communications that already exist in each contact?
