Minor usability issue with SINGLE-line text fileds

In a SINGLE-line text field, if I sweep over text to copy it, and my mouse ends up slightly outside the field, the selected text is magically unselected and cannot be copied (ctrl-c)

In a MULTILPE-line text field, if I sweep over text to copy it, and my mouse ends up even way outside the field, the selected text is still selected and CAN be be copied (ctrl-c)

This drives me nuts b/c my VOIP app has to have phone numbers copied and pasted into it to dial.

If I overshoot even the tiniest amount when selecting the number to copy, the number is not able to be copied.

Not a huge deal, just an ongoing burr under the old saddle.

Oh, I forgot to mention:

This seems to have changed lately (last month or so?)

It used to work just fine.

Sigh...

This is really driving me crazy.

The single-line fields in Podio behave completely differently than any other text fields in ALL of Podio, Windows, the web, etc.

The first rule of software design is that it should 'return the least surprising result'

Well, this is a surprising result - every time!

I keep finding myself sweeping>copying>pasting and ending up pasting whatever was LAST in my clipboard, because Podio cleared my selection because I swept one pixel outside the field so it copied nothing.

Sigh...

This seems like a simple fix, but maybe the complexities are too great to be fixed. I'm no coder, I'm just a paying user.

Hi Charles,

Can you share more details to what browser version you are using? We will test and see if we can find the issue to fix on our end.

Thanks,

Sara - Podio
