Provide Date Range for Tasks

I would love to see date ranges available for tasks.  I have a simple set of tasks that need to be run but cannot start before a certain date and must be finished by a certain date.  I know I can do that in a tasks app but these are simple things that just need to be checked off when done and folks need to know their start and finish parameters.

I don't like gantt charts but something that would provide that duration context for project tasks for these simple task lists.
