Table support in Text Fields and/or color for text

Hello,

I am wondering if there is support for organizing text information in table format inside a text field? I can't seem to find anything that gives this capability.

Also, is there any way to color the text in a text field?

If there is no table support now, is that a feature being developed? Seems like it would be immensely helpful.

Thanks for any help,

Justin

Hi Justin,

We do not support tables in the text fields at this point. What kind of table would you like to add?

Can it work to add an excel sheet with the table instead?

Hi Charlie,

I am creating an app which needs to present text data to users in an easy-to-skim-and-read format. A table in Word does that nicely (except for some silly Word formatting issues with tables). I can make it a jpeg of the table (which I've done) but I would like the text to be selectable and easily updated. I foresee some of the info needing to be updated depending on ongoing situations.

I also wish I could color text allowing me to highlight things as needed. In my table, it's super beneficial from a readability standpoint to be able to color whole rows making them easy to distinguish and grab the important points out of.

Any thoughts?

I see - thanks for sharing. For the big text fields in the template we are today using a editor called: TinyMCE (http://www.tinymce.com/) This does not support color edits like this I'm afraid. I know to bold the text might not be exactly what you are looking for, but can that help?

Hi Justin,

the calculation fields offer the possibility to show (read only) tables. For example you can grab data from different fields (and different apps) and show them as a table.

Thanks for the suggestions. It sounds like the tables limitation is based on the editor TinyMCE. I see a table functionality there, but not in the editor for Podio. Is there a plan for feature parity between Podio's text field editor and TinyMCE?
