Conditional Field Vision
It would be nice to have conditional vision of fields in an item. For instance, you have three categories, and certain fields show up if the first category is chosen and different fields when the second or third is chosen. I realize this is a feature that currently isn't offered but it wouldn't be too much of a stretch considering you already have "hide field if empty" and workflows.

I have been using Podio for about 3 years now. I have to say that in my opinion there has not been much improvement in the last year anymore. Looks like Citrix decided not to improve and invest but rather to keep billing existing clients. I have two companies right now deciding wether to switch to a paid plan or go with another solution and honestly, I cannot recommend PODIO at that point in time anymore. Really sad. I like the system a lot.

Hi Simon,
Thanks for your feedback. Citrix acquired GlobiFlow in 2017 and this year is really dedicated to improving the reliability and scalability of the platform with the increased usage and automation we see. You can read more about the focus areas for Podio for 2018 here: https://blog.podio.com/2018/01/10/2017-year-in-review/
There is no short-term plans to introduce conditional fields in Podio however you will be able to get this functionality in a webform using the Dynamic Forms offered by one of our partners: https://momentumtools.io/podio-forms

The last comment made by Simon doesn't gel with me at all. As a part of the user community I am happy to ask for things and advocate features that we might or might not get, but I am still an avid user and promoter of Podio. In the end it depends on how well you use it. We extend our Podio use through integrations with other tools, dashboards with cloud based tools and Apps and websites that we design in-house. The speed at which we are able to pivot in order to create new features and workout business logic in the calculation fields, is tremendous and unmatched from a no-code perspective. --- Using Podio everyday gives me a load of great ideas on how to grow the platform, however I am a dedicated user. Keep doing what you do Podio team.

@Faruq
I fully agree. I'm an Authorized Podio Partner and have about 50 Podio clients in many different industries all over the world, some have only 2 users, some several hundreds. They all like Podio for the reasons Faruq describes very aptly. All my clients are on a paid plan (with one exception on Premium or higher), even charitable organizations with very very small budgets cause they see the advantages of e.g using flows. They all know that it's worth to invest in productivity to save time and money. IMHO a free Podio account is only for a first testing phase not for working with it for years. Someone who is really interested to do his job in a serious way does the invest in productivity.

+1 That is a very useful feature request. It's hard to believe that conditional fields are not on your roadmap. Many of your competitors have this functionality as it is becoming a core feature for users that build their own apps. There definitely seems to be people asking for it based on the number of posts requesting this and the comments on this specific post. Hope you will reconsider for early 2019

Anybody, who is interested in our extension for conditional field vision, write me an email to hanno@hanno-roedger.de.

I have been looking at whether there is advantage to me to use Podio webforms to collect data straight into a CRM that I could build using Podio. Sadly, I'm astonished that as a field type Podio still does not natively offer conditional fields, so long after users have been asking about it. I have already been using, so easily, that kind of capabillty on Wordpress-based sites with WPForms. I will have to give up on Podio for direct data collection in the way I imagined, and probably only use it as a 'receptacle' for data collected via WPForms and integrated with Podio via Zapier. Also not impressed with Podio.

Paul and Jeff, it is sad but true. Podio is going downhill. They're "playing not to lose" it seems. There are so many simple features they simply refuse to add, conditional fields being one of them. We are looking to move away from Podio too. They'll be losing a long-term and high paying customer when we do. I hope someone from Podio reads these comments and replies, but I doubt it :(

I disagree with Jefferson: Podio is the most powerful flexible platform I have ever come across. Every system out there has its strengths and weaknesses (Facebook is a terrible accounting platform for example, Xero is a terrible social network) but invest some time in understanding how to make Podio work for you and you’ll be flying.

I agree with Daniel. After 2 years of using Podio and being excited and trying to implement many of our company’s processes I finally had to conclude that there is no way forward with Podio. It’s in fact a dead platform. I can only advise you to look what’s best for your company. We have only 2 last accounts on Podio before finally phasing it out in Q1 2021. I feel sad for the developers that put their best effort and heart into building it in the first place.

I've decided I'll park my efforts on Podio. I first started looking at it about 3 years ago and then went away on other projects. I came back recently to take a look and started to enjoy again what I thought I'd be able to do. But as I dug deeper, I realised there were some fundamental issues, like no advancement with conditional fields, that meant it would not be for me.

Let's face it, Podio is dead. They are sooooo far behind the many, and cheaper, alternatives available it doesn't make sense to start with Podio today. It's a shame because they were one of the early leaders in this space but they stood still and didn't move as fast as their competition.

Hi All,
We wanted to share a post that Sara made to some of our customers about a month ago. This sums up one of the improvements that members have been asking for, as well as how Citrix is envisioning Podio.
"We're still here and no plans to EOL Podio, we will continue to develop and improve the platform.
Today we updated with a long overdue feature for two-step verification - read more details here: https://help.podio.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360009916900-Two-Step-Verification-to-prevent-unauthorised-access-
Please also see this video with a vision for how Citrix is evolving the future of work with well-being in mind, Podio is very much a part of this vision as we showcased to the recent Citrix Workspace Summit. A more detailed demo video is available here.
Appreciate your feedback and hope you will continue to provide feedback to us.
Thanks,
Sara - Citrix"
