I gave up all hope and we are moving away from podio - since podio got aquired by citrix it seams like there are not so many ears into our direction... there are feature requests people have been asking for like 2 years and nothing is happening - it's a real shame since podio is so great and so flexible, but thee little things make it a real pain in the ass :(

back to good old google drive!

    Fare thee well!

    Essential feature at this time.
I begin to consider other tools.
Podio Team, any news on this?

    Hi everyone,

We don't have any updates on this one I'm afraid. Florian, I'm quite sad to hear you feel we aren't listening to our community. We have hundreds of inputs from our community, which is a really cool thing! But we cannot do everything. If you check our completed feature request section you will see there are 125 requests here that we have built in (with some duplicate topics though, keep in mind). Even just yesterday we released the ability to always hide fields, which was a very popularly requested feature with over double the votes of this thread:

    https://help.podio.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/204036538-Always-Hide-Fields

Community feedback plays an integral role in how we define our roadmap, but this doesn't mean we can build every feature that people ask for. That being said, adding the option to share specific apps is not off the table, but it is not currently being planned. If anything changes we will be sure to update you here.

+1 This would really help with collaborating with externals.

A current solution would be to clone the relevant app into a new workspace, invite them into that, then once the job is over clone it back to the original workspace. Cumbersome, but gets the job done.

We could also use this to allow others to see the results and Project overview in our workspaces without having full Access to Project Details. +1

I'm new to Podio but it does seem to have a depressing long lead time in new features being implemented.   With Citrix recent acquisition, can we expect that this will change?

For the people that have been requesting this feature and keep "voting" on these items...if you are new to Podio, get used to waiting FOREVER to get responded to in any way other than "this is a great idea, we will put it on our list."

My general believe is that the repository of this "list" is round, circular, and gets emptied on a daily basis by someone in the Janitorial Engineering Department.

I have submitted items, I have up-voted...and to date, not a single one has been implemented.

Some of the requests are so simple I could code them up in a weekend (some of them I *did* code up externally in PHP).

I'm at the point now, where we are re-evaluating other competitors of Podio because we are just tired of waiting and waiting for promised "improvements."

Podio has great promise, but ever since Citrix purchased them, their SW Dev team seems to be 1-2 people doing who knows what.

    Sad.

@Andrew Fields: which competitors are you considering? I am not aware of any that offer the same flexibility.

Would be time to implement this simple feat. 3 years after an feat request is crazy, also not letting us know if it's even on an roadmap is weird..

    Hi everyone!

This is on our long list of items that many have requested. While I do not have an update on when or if this feature will become available, I want you to know we are still listening and hearing your thoughts and ideas! This feature request is still in our list of great ideas from our wonderful customers and we haven't forgotten about each of you who upvoted this idea to improve our product.

+1   I need this to simplify our requirements to meet the GDPR regulations which come into effect 25/5/18 in the EU.

This is never going to happen before I switch platforms. Unfortunate. I've been following this thread for over a year... Unfollowing, switching platforms as soon as is viable.

This would be ideal for our company as well. We are looking at using the Contacts option to collate all of our various supplier / customer / business partner contacts, but in order to preserve security (not everyone needs to access every single type of record) we need to be able to share apps or even share just a view (without being able to access the rest of the app).

For example, customers may have personal contact details - or emergency contact details, which need to be seen by some people but not all. Or developing business contacts - we may have details which are only relevant to two or three people.

If we could share just the app and not the workspace, we could have multiple apps and share the ones you need to see. If we could share just a view (where you can edit / add contacts as well, but only within your view type) then we'd only need one app.

For mailshots, for general contacting of the different types of people we work with - having multiple workspaces for contact lists would be simply unworkable. All in one app or multiple apps in one workspace, with limited access per staff member, would be perfect. I have worked with other databases which can do this, it should not be hard for Podio to add this functionality.
