Expanded Task Filtering on Mobile

I'd like to request the needed functionality for expanded task filtering or view options for the mobile app (Android and iOS).

For example, Labels, Person, WorkSpace etc. very similar to the web version filters. Projects would be nice too :-)

Seems like it would be vital to accurately keep tabs on tasks across projects on the go.

Thank you!

Hey Brandon!

We just added this functionality to iOS :)

Here's a few of the new features:

  • Create and use labels to manage your tasks priority
  • Quickly create a task from everywhere in the app
  • Group your tasks by due date, organisation, app, creator etc.

We have a small video here: http://instagram.com/p/uKtKDAtBul/

Hi Brandon,

Thank you very much for your input. It is noted for development of the app.

We're actually looking into making the Podio app better all around and we need your help to do this.

It would be a tremendous help if you could help us with developing the app by sharing your mobile use cases with these topics:

  1. What kind of mobile devices do you use? And when are you using them?

  2. To what extend do you use your mobile device for business / work purposes?

  3. What else do you use on your phone?

  4. How do you use Podio on mobile?

  5. What is most important for you to access through the Podio app?

  6. If you could have options to personalize your apps - what would this contain?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey Mette

Thank you for your response. I've included the answers to your questions below.

  1. What kind of mobile devices do you use? And when are you using them?
A: Personally, Android for tablet and phone. Most contractors of mine are on iOS.

  2. To what extend do you use your mobile device for business / work purposes?
A: We do web development and on site IT/Server maintenance. So we use our devices for planning and completing tasks primarily and providing updates to clients. We do outline the project using Milestones.

  3. What else do you use on your phone?
A: Outside of Podio for productivity apps... Evernote and Google Apps (Drive, Email, Cal, Voice, Hangouts).

We're heavy Evernote, Google Drive and Podio Tasks users.

Then job related apps for diagnosing and debugging (terminal, ftp, s3, etc). Everything work/project related goes into Podio.

Xero for our accounting and invoicing.

  1. How do you use Podio on mobile? A: Mainly tasks divided up by project/workspace and step by step items to make sure we're all on the same page. We use Podio for personal purposes too, for our own projects whether they're work related or not. Labels are usually used to identify whether they're personal, work, shopping, accounting ie.

We filter online via projects, people and due dates to accurately keep track of what's in the queue. So when we are in the field or at a meeting and create tasks for someone else or quick reminders, we are forced to go back to the web interface and expand on what we answered. If needed, we upload scanned docs from Evernote or Drive

  1. What is most important for you to access through the Podio app?
A: Mainly tasks. We use them religiously. We were with Wunderlist and to this date, it was the best mutli-platform task app we've used. But we decided to consolidate a PM system with tasks and other apps we were using to manage the business.

  2. If you could have options to personalize your apps - what would this contain?
A: I'd like the ability to organize tasks by Person assigned, Project assigned and Label assigned.

I'd also like to add labels and projects to tasks from the Tasks section in the Podio app when creating them.

Yes, I know I can add a task via the project and it will be assigned there... but when operating outside of tasks as a primary menu, it's vital to add and filter via labels, projects and people.

Thank you!

We plan to add similar functionality to Android - next up will be a new task widget (we hope!)

What about filtering items in an app on mobile device? I was told it can be done if i create a saved filter on the web and then i can access it on mobile. Is that possible?

@Avromy Segal, MBA - Click to view an app, then click the three dots in top right corner when viewing the items, and you can select views from here :)

The is great that there is a filter option on iOS, but what is with Android?
There are rudimentary functions to the iOS version.

Alternative I can't use the web view on my Android Phone, because of missing responsive design.
In this case it's very difficult to use Podio in my company.

Is a solution in sight?

Mario, yes! We are working to update our Android version to match iOS. Next in line is the notifications page that has extra features currently not supported on Android - but features is in progress to be added :)
