New Podio Interface
Good morning,
We've been using the new interface for what, 2 weeks now? While some things were good additions (way to modify apps, more configuration on fields, creating new app reference items on the fly, etc.), I feel that the new "Core Redesign that loads data 200% faster" actually made everything I'm using in Podio a real pain. The overlay just doesn't work, it slows down the process of looking for something, makes it hard to know where to click, it's been buggy even with Chrome (not popping up the item). While I used to be a real pro using Podio, I feel like I lost the felling of knowing exactly what I am doing and controlling my environment.
Am I the only one??? I've pushed Podio in other organizations because for me it was the way of doing things and was working in conjunction with the Getting Things Done concepts. Now even the tasks completely disappeared at the bottom of the item page. Right now I could not be recommending Podio to other organizations as It was already not easy to learn (lots of people gets the Blank Page feeling), but now I don't see how they could be really understanding the whole platform without getting lost.
I really hope you guys will rethink your interface, even though you've been working on it for 6 months and even though it would a real pain for you to move away from a decision. I know your CTO addressed some of the critics with solution plans, but I don't recall having him saying he would be reconsidering the interface...
I would also remove the loads data 200% faster from the new interface advantages because, for me, it's been taking in average more time to load items compared to the previous interface.
We are with you Podio and hope all our comments will get you back on track.
Best regards,
Francois

PLUS 1+ Here. I have been a Podio user for well over year. I have over many outside clients integrated into our workflow. The new update has crippled my usage. You can't tab through fields to fill in data, the overlay is slow and cumbersome making quick update a pain. I have actually just had a meeting with Mavenlink because I am on there verge of needing something that works smoothly, like the old Podio. I can't imagine Francois and myself are the only ones pulling out our hair (oh wait, we don't have any).
I hope there is a solution soon, as we are believers and advocates for Podio.
Best Regards,

Yes it is. Takes years to load. The previous version was faster....
I'm sure the team at podio is taking a look at this BUT here's a work around to avoid the overlay while they don't get this fixed: All you do is switch the layout to "badge" or "Activity". Not as table. This way you can right click the item and open in a new tab. This is faster to me. Hope it helps. -
I've found Podio runs very slow and the entire interface is bloated and clunky - navigating isn't straight forward and every action requires far to many clicks. I'm currently assessing Podio to use in our organisation so I don't know what it used to be like. I want to like it, but its just not working for me so far! Unless the Podio team improve the interface and its usability i'm afraid i'll have to look elsewhere!
Great concept, poor execution.

Hi James, it used to have a very good interface. I understand they wanted to improve it, but just little things on the old one would have make it so more powerful. It used to be (and probably still is) by far the most adaptive and collaborative tool an organisation could have. Let's say that before I was not concerned about the interface everytime I used it...
