Moving a file from one item to another in same app

I want to combine 2 entries that are already in the same Podio app. Each entry has some files attached to it, so I need to consolidate all of the files (including history) as attachments to the same one entry before I can delete the other entry. What's the best way to do this?

  Hi Brenda,

  Since files cannot be moved around within Podio, the best thing to do is download all the files from one of the items. Then, upload them to the other item. At that point you can delete the item that has fewer files, if it's no longer needed.

  A real pity though that content cannot be moved within Podio. This makes cleaning up and housekeeping in bigger teams really tedious. What is the reason, that this is not possible?

  Good question Martin.

  It is quite popular for our customers also to use other file sharing solutions like Dropbox, Google or ShareFile in combination with Podio. This means they have all files in one place and simply link from the file sharing solution to any item (without the need to download and re-upload). But I do agree it could be easier to move individual files without using a filesharing solution - might be something we can improve in the future.
