Currency symbol in calculations field

How do I get a pound symbol to appear BEFORE the summed amount in a calc field when adding several 'money' fields together? The instructional video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zwc11Tt_1co) shows a currency being inserted (at 1:46) but I just get errors when trying to update the template. The folks at Podio are telling me that the error is because I have a mismatch of calculation types. Can you sum 'money' fields and show a PRECEDING symbol?

  I am very very new to PODIO but I did exactly what you asked here and to make it work I used the following "£" + @variable ... the currency symbol seems to be treated as text and then I simply carried on the rest of the calculation. I found that I had to remove the filed first, save then add it, save and then do the calculation. Maybe a quirk but it works.

  Hi, everyone. I know this is an old topic but the fix by Monir Mohammed doesn't seem to work anymore. Did anyone work this out? The error says "The result is not a valid number".

  Hi James,

  it depends on how you do the calculation.  Share a screenshot of the calc field with an explanation which type the fields are you use as variables, please.

  Hi, Rainer. I read through some other tickets and found the solution where we have to start a fresh calculation thus creating a text calculation instead of a numerical calculation e.g. 
  
  "$" + (@something + @something + @something) + " each".
