Text editor enhancements
AnsweredHi,
I would like to point out that I find that the current editor is seriously lacking. So I would like to offer some ideas.
1) it's very annoying that when I want to copy something from an article it automatically goes into edit mode. So my idea is only to open edit mode when you specifically click an edit button.
2) Text formatting really lacks! When you have long articles, you have to scroll all the way to the top to create an ordered list or whatever. I have found that I can use keyboard shortcuts for the headings or to make the text bold. But they don't always work the way I want them to.
My idea is that the formatting bar stays on top of the screen when you scroll, so that you don't have to scroll all the way up all the time.
3) Enters make formatting hell, when you want a heading but you don't want your text spacing so big (makes the article even longer see number 2) and you use "shift enters" it automatically changes your selected heading, and the text you didn't select but "shift entered" under it and gives that the formatting of a header as well.
These are just some things that I came up with. And I think It would really help if the editor get's a little more attention.
Best regards,

We made updates to the Text Editor that might help you. For example with a new fixed height/header so you always have formatting options available in the top.

Hey guys!
I agree that there is definitely room for improvement on the text editor. We actually use a 3rd party editor called TinyMCE, so the options we have to change it ourselves are a bit limited.
More on TinyMCE here, if you're curious:

We experience the same problems. We also want to make extensive documentation in Podio.
I saw in source code that you use TinyMCE. Why don't you switch on functionality like
- fullscreen
- HTML view
- Image embedding
- tableWithout these functions, Podio is useless for documentation.
