Webform tweakage: options on file attachments

Currently most of the items on a webform are selected from the app items; this allows us to edit their label, decided whether it's required, and determine the sequence of them.

However, if we want a webform to include file uploading, there's a single check box on the web form setup.  Checking that box always adds the feature at the very end of the form; always labels it "Attachments"; and doesn't allow us to set whether it is required or not, or whether multiple attachments are allowed.

(We can create an "Image" item in the app; in that case we can set the label and position of the item, and make it required - but only if we want that limitation of file type - and we still can't limit to a single file.)

Ideally we'd either have a more configurable version of the "image" field type for the basic app - including whether to limit to certain file types, and whether more than one file was allowed.  Or, when editing a webform and selecting the "file attachment'' feature, have some sub-options for it, of which the one I'd most care about is setting minimum and maximum number of files (so for some applications it would be 0-1, i.e. not required, exactly one file allowed; for some it would be 1-1, i.e. required, exactly one file allowed; etc.)

I'm requesting the ability to require a file to be attached to a webform.

+1 for the ability to require a file and set the file type e.g. only .pdf and/or .docx

Agreed. +1 for the ability to require a file and set the file type e.g. only .pdf and/or .docx
Has this functionality changed in the past year?

The ability to make the file upload a required field would be very useful for us and save us so much time having to chase people when they forget to attach (this happens surprisingly often). Please can we make this a feature?

The extra customisation to the file upload would also be much appreciated.

I'll vote for this - moveable attachment field that you can make required.

Hi, it is actually needed urgently, i am using web forms, i have found a bug that if you attach a pdf to an image file attachment field, the form still submits and it comes through without the attachment. this should not happen and should check the file extension and throw out an error forcing for the correct file type. Why is it so difficult for you to add a field on the app creation called file upload and we can customize it like the images field and have no restrictions on file type. this should be a fundamental feature for any software system. on or off line. The amount of applications i receive on webform with out attachments is making me rethink the use of Podio.

Also requesting this feature to be added. The lack of this greatly limits the ability to use the app as a webform where additional documentation is needed.

+1 please add this. It's very difficult to run recruiting through Podio (even though there are nice apps for this) without attachments having better functionality for resumes.

+1 for the OP's request: for the ability to configure the Attachments field.
