Single Sign On - support SAML 2.0
PlannedPodio currently works with Single Sign On (SSO) vendors like OneLogin and Okta by supporting Secure Web Authetication (essentially, password vaulting). In the SMB market these days, the company may use quite a number of online and SaaS products, which makes something stronger than a password vault really desirable. What's needed is a way to turn on and turn off access to all the products from one place (e..g, when new staff are added or terminated). To do that, a necessary step is for Podio to add SAML 2.0 to its integration with the likes of OneLogin and Okta.

Hello!
Thank you all for your feedback.
Glad to announce that we have released organisation level Sign Sign On (SSO) configuration in May 2021. Check out more details on our product news: Simplify and secure employee experience with new Single-Sign-On enforcement.
This configuration allows organisation admins to ensure employee users are logging into Podio using SSO, only via the preferred identity provider. Further, this feature is available for all Podio customers, both new and existing ones.
Tracking back to 2020, also want to highlight, that we introduced a layer of user-level security setting too via Two-Step Verification. This allows users to add an extra layer of security to their Podio user account.
These incremental steps have been very important in continuing our efforts on enhancing user security while adding some of the key and most requested features on Podio.

This is highly desirable from my point of view also. Identity management is a challenge with cloud solutions and those that give a SSO solution - SAML 2.0 being our preferred one, will get priority. Our Security people are currently working on a policy that could make it mandatory i.e. if you do not have it, we cannot buy it/renew it

Saw a post stating something about plans getting closer to SAML 2.0 in 2016. It's approaching 2017. Does Podio plan to support SAML 2.0 or not? In my mind, with big breaches like Yahoo on the banner these days it's time to poop or leave the toilet as it were when it comes to password and security related mechanisms. Podio?

We now support SSO and SAML for new customers using Podio in a Citrix bundle: http://blog.podio.com/2017/03/20/security-features/
New customers (signing up from today) will have the ability to leverage ShareFile’s extensive security features and Single Sign-on to manage their employees on Podio.
All you need is a ShareFile account for your business (which will be helpful to back-up sensitive files) to keep track of employees and files. You can enable two-step verification, set specific password requirements or use the Single-Sign-on integration from a ShareFile Enterprise version and will automatically use the same features for Podio login.
This is a small step in the right direction and we hope to make two-factor authentication available for existing Podio customers as well in the future.
