As with other CRM apps, it would be very helpful to be able to send email to clients from within Podio and then have Podio add tracking to the client so that we have a record of emails sent, calls made, etc.
In Salesforce, Worketc and other CRM apps, the user has the ability to send emails to clients from within the app, and then the email is tracked and added to a list so that the user can view time and date stamped emails sent to a client.
Calls should also be tracked whereby a user can click Call, add a note and then save it so that there is a record of calls and what was discussed on the call.
In addition, it would be ideal to be able to save email templates in HTML or text with logos, so that a template could be selected, sent to a client, and like the email above, is added to the list of sent emails with a time and date stamp.

Hey guys,
We made a new email and phone field that helps you achieve better CRM management in Podio going forward: http://blog.podio.com/2015/07/14/power-items-email-phone-fields/
Hope this can help you track emails and make calls directly from Podio :)

I am in the process of transferring my CRM from MS Business Contact Manager to Podio. I love the simplicity of the system in both building and using apps, but it would make it so much more efficient if we could implement the suggestion submitted by Bruce. It is a fundamental part of CRM tracking that all others have as an integral part of the system - Can we have this please?

Hi all,
Is there any way to have the email historic of a customer on the app of the workspace? I mean, if we are registered with our professional mail and we introduce our customer email, I'd like that all the emails send and received from my professional mail to my customer to be automatically introduced on the customer project/space/field... I don't know if I've been clear enough.
On the other hand I've tried podiomail.com but don't understand really well how it works and what it is for. Any tutorial o place where I can learn more about it.
Thank you,
Luis

I think they wouldn't ever add this, because it's against their marketing model. Now you have to add external user to project created on your account, your clients have to create an account and use Podio to collaborate and as long it's free for up to 5 users they have all they need to get to know with the software and they should be so satisfied that they will start using Podio for their own company by the time. The only problem is that this doesn't work. Companies are stuck with traditional e-mail clients and there's so much competition in CRM, Project management, etc. software market that this model will never work, maybe Facebook have enough power to kill e-mail, but not Podio.
I'm very disappointed by this as also by lack of client portal/space with branding features. This features would make Podio the best project management, CRM and even customer support software, no one offers so much flexibility and restrict so many capabilities at the same time by limiting just input types. Not to mention that software which could handle intranet, CRM, project management, customer service, internal knowledge base, data warehouse including clients and product databases and just simple e-mail client as a single solution, at highest Podio's current price point would still be the best value for money option to choose - no brainer. To bad they sacrifise this scenario for their "genius" marketing strategy. -
To add some/further specificity to this thread/request:
- Emails sent from inside Podio should also appear in sender's email mailbox sent items folder;
- The emails should come from sender, so they have no “via” in the email address when a recipient is reading them;
- Any replies to emails send from inside Podio should go straight to sender's inbox, with a cross-reference in Podio;
- Users should be ableto create Email templates within Podio;
- Podio should be able to track clicks and opens per email template;
- Email scheduling: Users should be able to send Emails from within Podio at a future time if scheduling is enabled;
- Ability to send outbound emails from multiple email accounts of sender's choice;
- Ability to add images to email footer;
- Above features should come at no additional cost.
This is not "pie-in-the-sky", "if wishes were horses" stuff ... the above features are available in a number of CRMs today.
