    Hey all,

We're listening, and we know this is a big wish for many of you! We do hope to add a bulk edit functionality to table layout in the future however the functionality is not planned in the short-term roadmap.

We prefer to be honest rather than promise a feature we won't be able to deliver in the near future.

In the meantime we can highly recommend this bulk-edit extension:

Thanks for your votes, comments and input.

3 more years and maybe we will have a "bulk edit" feature. If you wanna bulk edit, right now, Podio's answer is to take your deliverables > Exporting to excel > Edit > Import > Match Each Field > upload > Go back to Deliverables and hopefully you didn't make a single mistake or else now you gotta clean up the data and start all over again.... Simple solutions: Att Podio please create "Bulk Edit" right from within Podio. Oh yeah, it's on the drawing board .... For 3 years ;) My son was 8 years old when this thread started and now he is turning 12 :) He can code, maybe I;ll get him to code it for Podio :)

I just hate to update a simple status of 173 items in Podio.
With bulk delete in place how can this be such a struggle?

+4 (one for each year this issue is unresolved so far)...

We have adopted Podio for many things, but the one feature that prevents us from dumping our CRM entirely for Podio is bulk updates. I am sure that my organization is now alone in this; there are numerous support threads about this.

A simple, common use case for why this is important is as follows:
    (a) You have a list of contacts
    (b) You want to filter those contacts by particular fields (e.g. added as a contact in the last month)
    (c) You want to tag / add a note that you have e-mailed all these people

Zoho CRM and others do this simply as follows:
    http://screencast.com/t/aBMnkbfg
    http://screencast.com/t/lAUgKrjp
    http://screencast.com/t/UDoDMlMJY24

Podio allows you to almost do this, but presents to you only one bulk update action - delete.
    http://screencast.com/t/XPZ9oxYynL

This small feature using this approach could address a lot of user pain.

    Thanks for your consideration.

Thanks for the response, but I believe this issue has more upvotes than most of the 100 ideas and new features implemented from the community. Perhaps the Product Manager is not listening hard enough... ?

Just got a update from Podio that the "Bulk" feature is not currently on their road map. So we have been waiting for 3 years for nothing. And with this, unfortunately we are gonna have to say goodbye to Podio as CRM possibility. A CRM tool/platform without Bulk update capabilities is just not visible for us. This is a feature that should have been implemented at the very beginning instead of maybe trying to launch a new failed products such as "Beagle". Poor resource management. This feature is clearly needed as you can see by the amount of people on this thread. You just lost a possible 20+ users from us alone. Thank you Podio for all the sleepless nights fiddling around trying to get around your lack of basics. It was a great ride, but we are gonna have to cancel our subscription but worst of all I'm gonna have announce to my team that we are off to another CRM company. Today, I'm gonna have to hear all the "I told you so!" from my coworkers. Goodbye Podio!

Awesome guys from GlobiFlow just released a solution that enables us to bulk update Podio items like a spreadsheet. Here's how to do it: http://99rabbits.com/podio-bulk-edit/

    Agree with Mike!

This takes up serious amounts of time when editing, say a 100 items individually. Specifically I'm annoyed by having to click Edit when I have a text field I've yet to fill out with information.

    Kind regards

    Kasper

I would love to be able to mass edit my columns. It seems as thought the checkbox that already exists for the items would help resolve this. I actually don't understand what the check box next to individual app items is for except deleting. I would love to be able to sort and filter by check mark, and then be able to create a view from that. This software has the possibilities to do all of the above, just waiting on the ability!

    Pretty Please!

Also, I think creating a check list should be an app item. That would rock.

    Thanks

Short of general bulk edit, limited bulk edit of just tags would greatly empower Podio. In table view, let us select records (items) and apply bulk tag addition or deletion. The workaround suggested by Podio in another thread, export the entire database to a spreadsheet, then edit and re-import, is computationally expensive and error-prone. Bulk tag edit lets us process the entire database (app) of items more easily, and would work well with ad-hoc Filters (select views).

To make tags even more useful, let us also select whether to display the tag column in Options, and apply boolean expressions (not just OR) on tags when Applying Filters.

Sara Høeg, thank you for suggesting i post here.

    Hi Jacquelyn!
The major three things I noticed in the new release related to the bulk-edit question are:

    1. No bulk edit possibility :(

    2. When mass editing items the selected item no longer slides in from the right hand side but pops up in a full screen lightbox. This makes bulk editing one click slower since I have to close the lightbox each time before moving on to the next item.

    3. When I mass edit from a long list of items, items no longer automatically/AJAX update in the list without manually refreshing the page. This introduces one extra click on the refresh button every now and then.

Two steps backwards when it comes to bulk edit and "clicky"-ness in Podio.

Just make the list view to act as a normal spreadsheet. Problem mostly solved.

Is great to hear that Podio team has made some upgrades related to this request, but I think it's not enaugh.

We should be able to update multiple items from, at least, the table view by (same metodology WordPress uses to bulk edit items):

    1. Selecting them by it's checkbox
    2. Clicking on an "Edit Selected" button
    3. Then one of each template item fields would show up empty at the top of the page
    4. Now, any field we'd fill up would replace the contents of that same field in any of the selected items
    5. Click "Save" button and that's it!!

Another WordPress based implementation would be the ability to edit itmes individualy from, at least, the table view.

Since all App items use the same template, these 2 ideas would be doable and extremely timesaving.

Not on the roadmap after 2 years! This is very disappointing and hobbling use for more widespread purposes. How many votes does it take to get this noticed?

    Dear Podio:

I imagine your dev team is keen enough to be working on this already, but it's a MASSIVE drawback. From an implementation standpoint, at least conceptually it would be simple enough:

There needs to be a button for bulk editing next to the trash can icon when selecting with check-boxes. This button could evoke a blank item with all fields available for editing, by which all edits would overwrite all entries selected, or only the blank fields of those items selected. Have 2 buttons below in lieu of the "Save" button, one for each of those options respectively.

Now that will be 5 dollars... but seriously it's a no-brainer!

Yes, bulk editing however you can do it is absolutely essential! Podio, do you ever answer these requests, are you working on this?

I will second, third, and forth this thread - bulk editing and the ability to more quickly & easily enter edit mode for fields that have not yet been filled out are HUGELY desired - more than any other feature at this time. Hopefully this is in the works. Do you have a roadmap future updates published anywhere?? Many thanks for this awesome platform - REALLY hope we can add some functionality in this regard!
