Order of referenced items

Relationship fields show the items you've referenced in the order you've referenced them. For example, if I have three items dated January, February, and March of 2017, and I reference them in the order of February, then March, then January, that's the order they will be displayed in the relationship field.

Is it possible to change the order based on a field? In this example, no matter what order I reference the items, I'd like them to show up chronologically baed on a date field after they've been referenced. I know with custom views you can change the order that reference-able items show up in the dropdwon but as far as I know that doesn't impact the field itself.

Checking to see if this possible before I create a post under Feature Requests.

  Hi Ahmad,

  You are right that this isn't currently possible. I've moved this thread to our feature request forum so that you don't need to type it all up again :)
