Assign the task to them, mark as private, either add another task to follow for the supervisor or just share it with them so they can follow it and get updates.

I'm torn. I like the idea, yet I also like how simple Podio is, to the extent that simplicity includes their layout/design.... I'm fine with themes or without them.... But I can see why others migh...

When not just mention (even if no link occurs) the file? If they are in the same workspace and you have a workspace file tile, they should be able to note which file you are referencing.

It seems like, at one point, you were able to grant access to an item without access to the entire space... Either I don't know what happened, or I'm out of my mind.

When the task is created, make sure it's marked as 'shared' and not 'private', hope that helps.
