Enjoy a better calculation field experience!

Hi Podio Users,

We know how much you love to use our Calculation field: It keeps your time-tracking on point, your invoice amounts upto date and lets you keep track of your deal's value and what not! So, apart from optimising our system implementation and enhancing our infrastructure behind the scenes to make optimise calculations, we also decided to make calculations more user friendly!

Visual Cues to Indicate current status of calculations

Starting today, you'll now see a visual indicators next to the calculation field name which will help you understand the current status of your calculation:

When calculations have successfully completed:
You will see an info icon next to the calculation field name on hover shows you the exact time when the calculation/re-calculation was completed

When calculations are queued up:
Many a times, you implementing might be such that it triggers thousand and thousands of calculation together, in this case your bulk calculations might be in the queue but because you don't know this, you might re-trigger those calculations again. To handle this better, you will now see a loader icon next to the calculation field name which on hover shows you the exact time when this calculation field was last updated

Note: These visual cues will be seen if your calculation was last updated less than 2 days ago or if its currently being processed

Refresh calculations for a particular item

You might sometimes want to quickly refresh calculations fields of a particular item, we have now introduced this ability in our item details page:

This option can be found under the "Actions" dropdown on any item
This option can only be exercised once in an hour to restrict abuse. In case the calculation(s) are already in process, refresh will not happen

We highly encourage our users to use this feature instead of other workarounds that refresh calculation fields across all items in an app.

Podio Item ID token now available in Calculation field

You asked, we heard! 👂

You can now access your Podio Item Id in calculation field using token called "Item Id". It will be available as a text field just like Unique id (or App Item Id)
