Is recent acquisition Wrike going to replace Podio
I have read Citrix has acquired Wrike, which has a fair amount in common with Podio. What is Citrix's roadmap? Integrate Wrike and Podio? Replace Podio with Wrike? Any official answer would be v helpful!! I am referring new paying clients to Podio but do not wish to do so (along with all the consulting to help them get set up) if it will disappear soon... !
PS - I love Podio

Hi Stuart and Carlos!
We have an official blog response here from our Vice President of Product @Citrix detailing the product strategy:
Podio will have a critical role in Citrix product strategy alongside Wrike:
With future integrations of Wrike collaborative work management into Citrix Workspace, we will provide a true digital workspace platform that transforms how work gets done via:
- Native aggregation and integrations for apps, content, data, projects, and workflows
- Built-in low-code / no-code tooling for microapp business solutions and workflow automation leveraging Citrix Workspace and Citrix Podio for data-driven apps
- Best-in-class content collaboration integrated with O365 and Google Workspace with built-in content workflows and digital signature
- Best-in-class project and work management to execute various levels of work across the enterprise — from portfolio planning with strategy / goal planning, to project planning with capacity planning, project execution, and project insight and analytics
Hope this helps :)
We are here to stay and have exciting plans for how to improve the product further in 2021 and beyond.
Cheers,
Sara - Head of Product for Podio

One of the great things about Podio is how easy and inexpensive it is for Startups, SME's and Very Small Businesses to start building simple apps and workflows. I fear Podio becoming part of a larger ecosystem with the corporate and its "complicated product management" mindset could make it a far more difficult value proposition to sell to non-IT people. Will it be the case? Or will Podio still be usable as a standalone product without having to first find it somewhere in Citrix's huge portfolio? Will Citrix finally put back some resources on developing Podio, or is the plan to migrate the users and developers to something completely different? (This would explain why there is zero development effort made....)
I love Podio, but I am worried.

Thank you, Sara Høeg Højlund-Rasmussen yes that helps!

Glad to hear Stuart.
Benedict Stalder, good question! We are very much aware the power Podio apps comes with the ease of build and the ability to create solutions which are inexpensive to develop, yet powerful and sophisticated. We will continue to invest in this area. The last few years of investment has been in the backend of the platform to continue to run securely and support the increasing demand of automations - in 2021 we aim to get back to invest in the user experience and the UI of Podio as well. We will continue to develop and support the standalone version of Podio as well as the integration of Podio apps in the Citrix Workspace platform.
We plan to host a webinar for partners and advanced users later this spring to share more!
Thanks for sharing!

Hi Sara,
Is there a mailing list or a place to sign up for this webinar? Thank you for the updates. I hope Citrix or Podio will share some specifics about what will happen to Podio, whether we'll need to upgrade or update our accounts, what will happen to the scripts we've build in globiflow etc etc.
Thanks so much,
Lisa.

Hi Lisa,
I will make sure to post here as well as in our workflow automation user forum in the related Podio workspace.
We don't have anything planned that should affect your scripts using workflow automation (GlobiFlow).
Last week we added a few new enhancements for using https remote actions to build your own integrations, learn more here: https://help.podio.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360010494879-Podio-workflow-automation-Feature-Enhancements

Hi Sara, any updates on that webinar? Does Citrix offer any comparable products that we can start investigating a transition to? Unfortunately, our business is heavily reliant on podio and particularly globiflow. It's becoming a major business risk for us to continue to operate on a platform that really appears to be winding down, or is being left to piddle away in some forgotten Citrix office.
As previous commenters have said, very very basic functionality / improvements haven't been touched since 2013/4. 2 factor authentication is great, but many companies roll that out with additional improvements, and then continue to develop and update the functionality of their product.
Other commenters... since podio / Citrix is either unwilling or unable to answer... what are you looking at doing with your accounts? What other platforms or solutions are you looking at, in case podio gets cancelled? -
Hi Lisa,
Let's set up a private roadmap review to go through our plans and get you access to our Beta program to give us feedback on new features, this should give you a better idea on what we are working on behind the scenes.
Let me know via sara.hoeg@citrix.com and we can set up a call to meet!
You can sign the Citrix NDA here to get more details on future roadmap items: https://www.citrix.com/about/legal/nda.html
The public webinar will be planned for April-May timeframe but will not have confidential items.

Good point from Benedict Stalder who somehow brought some of my startups to Podio. My question therefore will be pretty straightforward: is it planned or possible to migrate all or most of our Podio content to Wrike paying discounted fees for long lasting Citrix partners? From a strategic standpoint, it allows the group to keep customers within its realm.
-
To the point from Benefit around IT vs. business focus - Podio will continue to be driven by our philosophy to empower all users and teams to manage work, not IT. This is not changing. We are investing in enterprise level features to make it easier to manage things like user management and large groups of employees with secure access (Example SSO feature just released here) but we are not changing the core of Podio to service start-ups and teams of all sizes.
It is possible to create workflows across Podio and Wrike together using our workflow automation https actions, API or Wrike Integrate leveraging Workato to have actions work across the two. However we will not offer a migration path. Wrike is currently mostly focused on projects, tasks and milestones, whereas Podio is servicing the need to build a full system like client management, lead management and other solutions that require a more custom build.

Thank you, Amaury Aubrée-Dauchez, for your comment on my quest to bring the world to Podio. Many of my clients and alumni have embraced Podio - a good reason for me to want a bright future for Podio!
I want to start using Wrike - alongside and connected to Podio - hoping to see some bundle or discount for Podio users since many can't afford to pay for both licences.

Sara Høeg Højlund-Rasmussen I will be travelling on the 19th and unable to attend the webinar. Can you provide us with a link to view it later on (eg keep a recording available to us for 1 or 2 weeks after the fact? This would be really helpful! Tx for your feedback :)

Hi Amaury, Podio and Wrike are solving different problems - Podio has the flexible database to enable you to store customer and business data in one with advanced workflow automation, Wrike is best for project, task and portfolio management. Would you be able to meet 1-1 to discuss? I will get in touch in person.
