Calculate Total using a Multi Select Field

Hello, I am new to using Podio Calculations and could use some assistance, so apologies for the newbie question.

I have a Category field with 3 text options where the user can select multiple options. I want to assign a numeric value of 5 to each text option and then total the sum of the numeric values.

For example, if the Category field has these 3 text options (each worth 5 points):

Option 1

Option 2

Option 3

How would I calculate the total based on the options the user selects given they can select multiple?

  Hi,

  try with this code :

  
  var cat = @Catégorie;
  var cat1 = cat.indexOf("Option 1") >= 0 ? 5 : 0;
  var cat2 = cat.indexOf("Option 2") >= 0 ? 5 : 0; 
  var cat3 = cat.indexOf("Option 3") >= 0 ? 5 : 0;
  cat1 + cat2 + cat3

  Or simply: 

  @Category.length * 5

  Rainer - I have a similar question; however, my options have different values - Will the above code work or is there a much simpler way? For example:

  option 1 is 30 * @XYZ

  option 2 is 5000

  option 3 is 7.5 * @XYZ
