How to "Get the highest value from field X"

Hello,

this is my problem:

"App A" contains items with an ascending numerical order in field X,e.g. "250". 

Now I would like to show the highest existing value from this "field X" in App B.

Is there a way to do this with a calculation field?

  Hi Dorothee,

  If field x contains one value per item, I believe in app B you can use @Max of field x

  Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately this does only work for directly related items. Maybe there is another way?

  Is field x a number field?  it won't work on a text field

  Yes, it is - but I only get the maximum value of the items that are related directly to my current item. :/

  Hi Alex,

  yes, of course. First I created a view and used "Get item from a podio view", then I used "Sort collected items".
