Limit client-based or app-based?

Hi there,

Our mutual customers are currently using our app (Klipfolio) to connect to their Podio metrics so they can monitor all their key metrics on one dashboard.

Today, we ran into some API limits...could someone clarify if these are at the client level or app-level? I know it's 5000 calls/hour, but not sure if that's 5000 calls from our app or client.

If it's app-based, we'll likely need to request an increase :).

Hi Nikita,

The rate limits are at the client level. If you would like to request an increase, please contact support@podio.com with the following information:

  • The client id of the API key you are using
  • The email of the Podio user who owns that API key
  • Your estimated usage
  • A list of the specific API call(s) where you are hitting the limit
  • A short description of how you use the API and why it's hitting the rate limit
