US Date Format in Webforms
Hi,
We are in the UK and I am trying to setup a webform which has date fields. For some reason on the webform the date always shows in the US format, but if you just raise an item in the app the date format is UK.
How can I get the format in the webform to match the format showing in the app itself?

How the date field is displayed in the webform when embedded on a webpage, will depend on the timezone setting of the browser/computer the user is on. When it comes in to the app, it will depend on the users language setting in Podio. I hope this helps to clarify and that it makes sense?

Charlie - thank you for replying, I hope you read this with thought.
1) The webform does not use the user's timezone, it uses the browser's language setting. I used to keep my browsers with the language setting "en" primarily and "fi-FI" second. I had to remove "en" and replace it with "en-GB" to get the date format show date first. No timezone change.
2) The app - do you really think that a user's language setting should set their regional setting? People never work in different places and do not want to use their work environment's settings? So a person with US language setting, who works in Europe, has his apps look different from his colleagues with a different language setting, and a person whose language is not available (like us Finns), have incorrect thousand separators (causing huge mistakes, if money is involved..). Week starts from Sunday even if in our country it always starts from Monday. And then there is the case of "my language is not available so I can't choose my regional settings".
So, the chosen language does not determine the regional settings a user wants.

Has this issue been resolved?
We have had the same problem with dates appearing in US format on all our computers. Even when the browser language settings are set to English - UK and the PC time zone and location are set to UK. It is critical we resolve this issue as our clients are required to enter their date of birth for visa application processes and any confusion/mistakes will be detrimental to our projects. Selecting the date format using the browser language settings is also flawed as many UK computers and browsers have default US language settings.
I don't understand why there is not a simple way to resolve this problem? There should be a way to select the preferred date format within the app template or the web form generator.

We don't want the date field to be set by the default browser language as the default language on most UK computers is US english. We can't update the browser settings on our customers computers so the date will show incorrectly. Will be great to hear back from Podio support as our forms are ready to go live on the website.Thanks, Anneka

We're having issues here as well. The briefing form we've set up is showing the dates as MM/DD/YYYY instead of the UK format. Despite the fact that our Podio accounts are set to UK english under 'language' this does not solve the problem.
Quite surprised Podio has given users the option to set this themselves as a separate function when editing their own forms. Is this something you are working on? Or is there another way to fix this?

I am too having the same issues. We are a provider within the public medical provider business and it is absolutely critical that we have the control over the date formats on webform rather than crossing fingers and hoping the end users are tech savvy enough to search Google and get answers in obscure places and then figure out that they need to change their browsers settings. Sorry that is too much to ask of end users to be all tech savvy or have the expertise to know this. Why is it difficult for Podio to listen to paying customers from across the globe (as it is a global company) and meet regional needs rather than insisting that we should be slave to browser's settings?

To "Coordinator", I suggest you don't use the native webforms if the date requirement is critical. This is something Podio does not seem to be willing to work on. You can use many other services that can build forms or build your own custom ones.
I'm hoping this https://momentumtools.io/podio-webform-advanced comes out soon. Then there is Advanced Webforms for Podio and the generic JotForms but the integration to Podio to the latter one needs to be built separately.
