    Hi Brendan,

You can have access to the app without getting notifications about. All you need to do is unfollow the app. Check out this article for more information https://help.podio.com/hc/en-us/articles/201019958-Managing-Podio-notifications

Weird, I already did that thinking it would stop but I keep getting notifications! So I figured that did not unsubscribe me. Let me double check to make sure I wasn't somehow referenced on items in there that lead to me getting notifications or something along those lines. Thanks for confirming.

But even if we can do that, i think that podio should let us choose if we want to automatically follow or not item that we interact with. I work on thousand items at a time, but don't want to get notification for all. But having to always unfollow each item each time i update or create... what a waste of time!

I work on a lot of different items, usually spending just a couple minutes on each one, and my coworkers also work the same way, so I think I speak for everyone here when I say that it's a nightmare to have to unfollow every single item we interact with if we don't want the notifications (and we don't). It would be nice to be able to get notifications for the few things we'd like to follow, but the auto-follow makes notifications completely useless. I can't imagine how such an embarrassing feature has been allowed to persist for this long.

    Hi Sean,

    We definitely appreciate this input!

My apologies that this is happening and that it is causing issues for how you want to work.

What I can do is to update our product enhancements with this request. Unfortunately, in the meantime, you will need to deselect the "Following"  button in order to ensure that you only receive notifications on items you are interested in.

In addition, you may want to double check your notifications options under your profile as well, if you are getting too many to manage. Our guide is here - https://help.podio.com/hc/en-us/articles/201019958-Managing-Podio-notifications

    All the best,

Dana, this is a really important feature request that is equivalent to a bug, lasting over six years.  You are proposing that Podio is incapable of letting us follow anything without all-or-nothing notifications.  Again, the elementary and baseline feature needed here is to disable notifications on a workspace-by-workspace basis.  It's extremely simple, about an afternoon's worth of coding, and much in demand.
