When creating an app in PHP, that will work fetching data via api

Do I create a php file hosted in my domain? then add the code that you specify, that will fetch data into podio right?

I need to know :

1 is the app in Podio, the php file I create or the app will display records fetch from the api code calls?
2 Can I create calculation apps in Podio that can grab data from another podio app?

  1) Your PHP file should be hosted on your own web server. Your PHP code can then fetch data from Podio, or insert data into Podio.
  2) Calculation fields can indeed be used to move data around between apps, but depending on your use case, it may be the right solution or not. It's hard to say without knowing more.

  Would you know of any templates used to do just that.. or connect? I like to get started by seeing samples, and create right off WordPress. Which will be super cool!

  Let's do something to simplify the concern, I'll split the problem in 2 stages. Stage one, getting the data into Podio synced.
  Stage 2, search / create an app in Podio, in the particular workspace that can perform calculations. the formulas aren't that complicated..
