What is the maximum number of relationship field values?

Could not find this one anywhere:
how many references can you enter in single relationship field in Podio?

    Seems to be that "no limit" is incorrect. If I try to add relationships beyond 250, I get this error:

    "You have reached the maximum number of values of 250 for the '<fieldnamehere>' field.

    Limiting relationships to 250 is way too low, IMO

    Hi Sara,
    well, currently we worked around the issue by changing the direction of the relationship.

    We managed groups of people with members in them, changed it around to the member items referencing the groups they belong to so we would not be limited to 250 members per group. But I can imagine that it is not always possible to work around this way.

    It is not possible to trigger an event in the reverse app, when you disconnect an item. Will this be available soon or is this not planed?

    Is 250 the maximum for in-item relations, reverse relations or both?

    Hi Jan,

    Sure, no problem then. My apologies that I wasn't able to help further with that question.

    That limit is per field. So each field can have up to the maximum number.

    I checked it. Backward referencing seems to have no limit. I got some items that have more than 5000 items referenced. Really no limit?
