Numbers without commas?
I want to use the number field in my contacts app to hold a zip code, but when I input the number the field automatically shows with a comma in it. It gives you the options to add decimal spaces, can there be an option to not show commas?

This is unfortunate because I discovered after importing hundreds of contacts. Usually, the format of how a number is displayed and how it is stored are two different things. It really isn't "tricky". It is a fourth Option in the Display as list.
The underlying cause of this issue is that the Contact field does not have First and Last fields. Therefore, I cannot use it and have had to create separate fields for the contact's information, including Zip Code.

Hi Paul,
If you could send us a ticket to support (support@podio.com) we can help to take a closer look at how your app(s) look to see what the best solution for you could be. I'm not sure if you're using a workspace contacts field or a Contacts app today?
For zip in a Workspace contact they do not show with a comma. For zips in a numbers field in a Contacts app, they do. But then I would recommend to use the Map field instead.
And for phone numbers, the Phone field for example.
Please see this article as well that shows these fields and our plan on the new Contacts type app :-) http://blog.podio.com/2015/07/14/power-items-email-phone-fields/

Charlie,
The core problem is that the Contact App or Contact field do NOT have a First Name and Last Name, just Name. Therefore, I cannot export for email marketing, or into QuickBooks, or anything else that needs separate First and Last name fields. Yes, I could write a routine in Excel to extract First and Last from Name, but this is unreliable when there are initials. Plus it is another unnecessary step in the data management process.
I have read many things on the Contact Name field issue. It seems as if Podio thinks it is simpler to have one name field instead of First and Last. Even though most other data bases either have the fields or extract them in the background.
Therefore the Contact field, apps, and maps are defeated and I have had to create my own Contact App that separates these fields. This one little thing of just one Name field has defeated many features created in the Podio CRM.
Search the Support site for "First Name". You will find 8 pages of comments. I haven't read them all, but it seems as if people other than me want separate fields for First and Last.
And, I get a zip field with commas.........

Hi Shahriar,
My apologies, you will be limited in the number field to working with commas. Our guide to the different fields can be found here - https://help.podio.com/hc/en-us/articles/201019298-The-fields-in-app-templates
As a temporary work-around, would you be able to use a text field? You can limit the lines to single line, if that is easier to track.
Best,
