    Hi Jean-Claude,

Thank you very much for your feedback. We already have different member roles in Podio and if you're Premium you also have the light user option. See more here: https://help.podio.com/hc/en-us/articles/201019898-Member-roles-in-workspaces

You have a point that it could be relevant to break down roles even further. The reason there are not more control options in Podio currently is because it is built on transparency and enabling members to communicate and manage their work in a transparent way.

Thank you again for your input.

That's just not enough! Can i set "view or edit own only"? No! So everybody can see everything and have access to every apps in a space... (but... maybe i'm wrong, because i can't try premium...).

I'm sorry that you do not like the transparency philosophy in Podio.

If you want to have projects that only certain people can see, you can create a new workspace and only invite the relevant members into that workspace.

But the problem with this, it's become difficult for manager to have an overview of all projects and make reports. Also, we cannot create a space for each tickets! I have an apps to do that... More and more apps give many powerful access management now,

Thanks a lot to consider this. I agree that's transparency is a good thing, but in some case, we cannot show everything. For example: research (ethicals reasons) or personnals evaluations. Thanks again

"View Own Only"&"View and manage Own Only" &"view my department only " are very useful . As a workaroud ,we have to copy items between APPs with same structure into different workspaces.

I agree that these additional level of permissions would be very helpful. Probably it would need a lot of restructuring or development and there would be a cost. But this requirement is so critical, specially for CRM Apps, that the cost for not implementing this could be much higher!
    Thank you.

Necessarily must be able to protect the field in the template of applications (eg, field phone number or address)

I know about 10 other entities that use Podio and have expressed the same. Need to control access by App level.

Yes.. We also need to do a little view filtering based on user role. Still need users to have access to the app but not everyone else's entries.

+1 --> For an App permission option " External Members can view and edit own Items only" Will come in very very useful, especially in cases for clients to be able to see their own items only.

    Hi!

I think admin users should be able to restrict access per app, not only per workspace.  One example that we are experiencing is this:

    • Workspace: CRM
    • App: Accounts
    • Problem: Only some Directors and Managers of the company are able to assign accounts to employees.  However, as anyone can edit app items, everyone is able to change account owners and any other detail within app items.
    • Possible solution: Access restriction per app and not only per workspace.

I know this needs coding and time, nevertheless this could be really helpful to a lot of users.

    Thanks.

    Eduardo

Fusioo appears to have exactly the role and permission control Podio needs at a role, app and field level - https://www.fusioo.com/guide/security-roles-and-permissions. Unfortunately, in my opinion, they lack the usability and collaboration Podio offers around discussions, post via email, calendar options, UX etc.
