Programmable "Default values" in fields.
It kind of pisses me off when Podio simply does not read the input... Everybody who requested this several other places KNOWS by now that a default value can be made with static values.
But what is requested is to have the field select a programmable value - like a [current-user] or [some-field-in-the-app].. but Podio simply ignores these requests :-(
Mayby I should write it in danish since it must be very difficult to understand when requested in english???
We need to program default values to fields to ease the use. I have written this flow other places as well - here comes the short version:
- A user is in an Issue of a Project, and has selected a project. The user would like to create a new Timesheet. Since there are no "buttons" in Podio yet a field is made to select a timesheet. In the dropdown a "new timesheet" can be created. The Timesheet-app is now opened a new entry is made - and you can select to go back to the issue-app... But right here it would be nice that the Timesheet-app was build so the relation fields "Project" and "Issue" would have the value [current project] and current issue That would mean that filling a timesheet could remove 2-3 selections - and possible errors..
If the request is not understood please ask - and not just close a request by explaining how to make default static values - like in the last 3 treads I have followed :-((

Hey Alf,
Request added and shared with team :) The reason for moving the old requests "default value" to completed was to make sure new Podio users will know how to create static default values as this will solve most use-cases.
Are you already using the calculation field? You can also use this to create some sort of programmable default values via Javascript.
Cheers,
Sara - Podio
