More fields in e-mail to app.. mapped to more fields in item of app. its possible?
AnsweredHi, cann i send e-mail into app. but with more parameters? Not only body of mail into one parameter (what i set in e-mail configuration), Subject of mail into another parameter (headline of item for example)..
Its possible to send more parameters?
Like: Subject: "Error in system reported by user", Body: "here is something about error..", but i cannd send nothing closer about application where was the error, where environment.. OR importance, or origin, parent etc..
Where is the better way to do in this case (beside receiving some email and by hand writing into app some item) - if i must edit each item in app created by e-mail and read all about what, where, who.. Thanks a lot for help.
For example some importand field in item of app is environment and origin.

You can actually populate other fields via the body in an email. Let's say you have a Relation field named "Project" (and the app you're emailing to is a Deliverables app) and a field named "Status". If you write your email like this:
To: Your Deliverables app email address
Body:
Project: Operation Firefox
Status: OngoingWe have a new deliverable that I have just started working on.
Now, if there is a project named "Operation Firefox" in your projects app, it will be referenced in the relation field, and if there is a status called "Ongoing", it will be selected in the deliverables app. The entire body text will also be inserted in the first large text field if you haven't selected an other field in the email to app configuration. I believe you can do this with other field types as well but I haven't tried.

We are a Podio Preferred Partner and this is something I have picked up during discussions with the Podio Team. As far as I know it isn't documented anywhere. There are actually a lot of small features that aren't marketed, some more useful than others.
What they do have in common is that they usually require some more work (as in filling out the email exactly right) and maybe they don't want to brag about features that people will surely mess up (and then blame Podio).
Glad that it worked!
