Ability to use @mention in workflows, not just @variables

Love the workflows and am looking forward to improvements there to have more causes and actions, but the most critical need we have right now with workflows is the ability to @mention specific workspace members (or the whole workspace) in comments when an item is updated. Currently using the "@" symbol only brings up the list of item fields as variables, and not the ability to direct comments to specific workspace members.

    This is indeed a good input and something we can see can come in handy at times for sure. It's not possible at the time being but it is something we might very well be looking into adding in the future. Thanks a lot for sharing your feedback!

    Charlie I do appreciate that Podio is willing to consider customer feedback, but for our organization it's not just "handy",  it's critical ......without the ability to use @mentions in automated workflows, the features itself does not realize it's full potential value, and means much more manual work for us to notify individuals when an automated item or task has been created.   I realize that when a task has been assigned to an individual they have the (optional) email notifications, but there are a lot of others in our organization who are NOT (and would not) be assigned the task but still need notification.    The "Notifications" (including the Daily Digest) are a 'blanket' approach - the @mentions give the specificity that we need.

    We need this too! I'd like to be able to create a Comment that would be able to make an @mention "work". This will save us a LOT of time! Please consider!

    I've looked at using workflows multiple times now but this continues to be a blocker for me, the feature is of no use for us without @mentions.

    Podio does what it offers very well. But over the last 2 years, most (if not all) of their development has been in making things pretty and integrating with partners. 
    Podio's developers api is surprisingly good. With the api webhooks you can accomplish what isn't available in the workflows. That being said, it is still complicated to set up a server to do just that.
    Bottom line: It has been years since this and other features have been requested, so i don't think Podio is keen on adding new functional features the community is requesting. I'm not expecting them to add @mentions to the workflows (even though it would be awesome!)

    This functionality was literally the reason I purchased the plus plan (assuming I could @mention with workflows), but I can't justify the Premium price for this one feature :(

    Any chance it would filter down to the Plus plan in the near future?

    There is no plans to offer this in Podio Plus as we have the functionality available in the Premium version.
