Unify similar forum requests to create a completly fair voting processAnswered
While reading the forum requests, I've come across to several similar requests that were being voted as different ones. I think that's absolutly unfair, similar requests should be regruped into one so every vote would really count. It's not the same to have 10 votes here and 40 there, than 50 unified in one same request.
I think the forum moderators should take this into account and start regrouping similar requests into one and only.
Thanks in advance :)
This is a very good point, thanks for letting us know. We are trying to point similar discussions and requests to the same thread - but we also don't like to delete content to re-group - therefore we usually keep all requests open but add a link to the feature request with the most votes so Podio users can go there to vote as well.
We do keep track of similar threads internally to track if there is votes on the same feature in multiple threads.
Thanks for helping us staying on top of the game!

I'm glad to hear that u're already handling this issue, but from my point of view I think there still too many similar requests without that link to the most voted one.
I spent less than an hour checking up the forum and I found lots of them, for me was extremely shocking because as I said it makes no sense and it looks like u don't really care about our feedback (I'm not saying it's true, just what it looks like). I think if one of u'd spent just a few hours going through all the requests could unify them within a day, I don't think is that hard or time consumming.
Glad to hear :) How would you unify them or group without deleting or changing content written by other users (we cannot group requests in the interface/system we use)?
We also don't want to re-group requests that might have different nuances or use-cases behind. In general, we like the content to be fully user and community-driven.
We do the grouping internally when mapping the community votes to product inputs used for product development (learn more here (http://blog.podio.com/2014/04/15/listening-learning/)

Maybe this forum idea is not the right way to vote then. U could use the forum jut to let users post request, then use a sepparate section where u post the unified request to vote for, instead of letting us vote for the users requests.
As I've stated before, doesn't matter if u do it internally, that doesn't change the fact that if there are 2 similar requests, one with lots of votes and the other with none, if a user only sees the seccond one maybe is not encouraged enough to vote thinking that nobody has done it yet, which is not really true because there is another post with lots of votes just that hi has missed it.
Hello people out there that would like to automatically clone data between Podio APPs.
This can be done very effectively with a Podio partner APP called Zapier. Zapier allows data transfer between a large number of popular apps including between Podio Apps (www.zapier.com). You can trigger data copies within Podio using Category Field "Commands", explained below.
In our company we use Zapier "Zaps" to trigger automatic data transfer as follows:
1. From a customer master database APP (In a Marketing workspace) we "Zap" to create a Lead in a Lead APP in a SALES workspace. We created a category field in the customer database app called ACTION, when ACTION=CONVERT TO LEAD the Zap grabs the contact data in the contacts app and copies it across to lead to create a new lead, it happens within a few seconds. The user then just needs to enter the lead details
2. Convert a Lead to an Opportunity - in our company an opportunity is a much more complex APP than a Lead and contains relationship links to many other APPs - such as multiple customer contacts (lead has just one), Customer Issues library, Probability History, competitors, quotations etc
3. Copy Google contacts contact to Podio Customer database. We trigger this using a special google contact group (Copy to Podio). We actually use a another third party app called PieSync to get contacts from Google Contacts to a staging app called Piesync and then a POdio --> Podio Zap to copy that data automatically to our customer contact master app.
4. Copy "Contact Us" contacts - people that contact us via our website into a "Contact Us" app. If we judge those new contacts to be valid we use a category ACTION to move the contact detail automatically to our master contacts database. You can see this in action on our website at www.growth-in-focus.com have a look at the "Work for Us" link on the home page.
You might also want to check out Globiflow (www.globiflow.com) which allows many other workflow possibilities. For example, if someone uses the "work for us" link on our website, We have Globiflow setup to send them an automatic email containing details of the next steps in our candidate process.
In Summary Podio + Zapier Zaps + Globiflow = an amazing ERP system with CRM, Marketing Campaigns, Quoting and Accounting, training Database, Plus, plus, plus - that you can configure yourself entirely.
I hope this helps
Zapier is free for 5 Zaps and less than 100 transactions per month. You need to pay if you need more. For our company its a pretty low cost (as is Podio).
The combination of Podio + Zapier + Globiflow makes an unbeatable ultimate ERP/BIS/CRM system in my opinion. All configurable by a non-programmer and pretty easy to maintain. It doesn't mean I wouldn't rather have all this functionality within Podio...its just that I appreciate there are limits to the Podio development speed. Most of the things we do in Podio in a few hours would be a multi-tens of thousands of consulting dollars with any other system.
