Notifications/follow flexibility

By default you will follow any item you have interacted with. Please make this an option or make it more flexible.

E.g. checkboxes stating: "receive notifications only from items you are related to through a relationship field", "automatically follow items you have interacted with" and maybe even distinguish between interaction types: comments, edits, creates …

  We have a workspace that we use with another company. In this workspace we need to receive a notification for any item modified. Plase make this possible

  Hi Vanessa,

  Thank you for contacting us here! 

  My apologies that we might not offer this feature. I was wondering if your admin had a chance to look at the application's notification settings? Our guide for setting up an app can be found here- App settings – Podio Help Centre

  You can then follow a workspace by clicking on the space's "Activity" icon. Scroll to the bottom and choose the notification icon.

  Hopefully this gets you closer to where you need to be with the modifications

  Hi Dana,

  What is the advantage to follow the workspace? I already follow the workspace but I don't receive any notification, unless I choose to follow every single item.

  Hi Vanessa,

  Following an item is the best way to get notifications on it. This allows for the flexibility of not following it specifically and allow for only the items you want to get information about.

  Depending on how members are using Podio, if they make a comment directly in the workspace and you are following it, you will get a notification. Provided that the administrator hasn't silenced them from the app settings menu.

  

   

  Beyond this, the information provided at the workspace level, is for these types of messages;

  Post a message in the stream when new members join or leave your workspace

  Post a message in the stream when apps are added, edited or deleted
