I would like to know how to do this as well. I had thought previously we could click on a column header and drag it to the intended location, but this isn't working now.
Table View Column Sequencing
I'd like to be able to reorder the columns in a particular view rather than have the sequence defined by the order within the application. This would help me bring the most important data for a view where it's easiest to see, while the user could still scroll to see other fields without going into the item view. The ability to deselect columns helps, but the ability to change the sequence and include that with the saved view would be best.

Please tell me how, or make it possible to re-order the columns in the table view. Preferably by dragging, just the same as you do when building the item template.
Currently this is only possible from re-ordering the fields in the app template ( https://help.podio.com/hc/en-us/articles/201019578-Modifying-an-app ) but I see why you would like to do directly from the view as well :)
Please know that you can also hide specific columns using the table layout settings.

This should definitly be implemented! Changing the app field order is not a solution, there can be different views where you want different ordering.
One would not suggest to change the column order of a table to get a view in database world and it should not be this way in Podio land :)

1) column widths automatically adapts to the minium width
2) that you can set a column width itself and is remembered
This has been asked for almost 2 years. I think it's a huge thing that has been overlooked.
It's been almost 2 years. Has this been implemented? I've noticed anytime the PAYING end users put a good idea forward the people at Podio tend to pay us lip service by saying what a good idea it is and that they understand, but I'm yet to see any action ever taken. Please prove me wrong.
All votes here weigh the same, paying user or not (we can't even see if you're paid or not from this forum, and votes are anonymous). If you browse this feature request forum you will find hundreds of other threads just like this, and we have inputs coming in from our other support channels as well. We are fortunate to have a passionate community of people who are willing to share their feedback with us, and we do our best to take each input into consideration. However we are a very small team and cannot promise to do everything.

@Jacquelyn May: I'm curious to know how many support staff Podio has employed since you say you are a very small team despite Podio growing larger and larger in terms of its customer base over the years as well as being purchased by Citrix 3 years ago for around $50 million.
I'm getting the impression more and more over the years we've been using Podio that their customer base has outgrown what the Podio support infrastructure is capable of handling?
The support team size isn't relevant, it's our developer team that gets to build everything :) We just get to break the news when cool new features are released. And we are in the process of hiring more developers as you can see from our jobs page:
We had to do a bit of downsizing since the news in November, and now we are building the team back up again in our new Raleigh HQ.

It has now been 2.5 years, STILL no re-orderable columns. At this point, I don't think we will ever get it. Do I need to start looking for a platform that listens to its PAYING userbase?
Perhaps if Podio provided a list of features they are WORKING on with the status of progress that might help. I'm aware of the "Product News" page but that just shows once things are DONE and I don't see any list of "priorities" there.
Understand, I'm trying to be patient, but there comes a point when you can't wait any longer for something that is so standard in most apps.

One wonders if maybe Citrix is just minimizing resources spent on Podio so as to make as good margins as possible?
Every once a while I think Podio thinks we make a favor sending them a check for our monthly subscription. If you think the great majority uses free account and therefore you put no interest in changing things, please charge $1 for the current free account. but please deliver basic requests. Almost 3 years for this that is true for any other platform. 24 +27(globiflow - bottom bracket).
Is this the better choice once you consider all things together?

Yes, of course the code needs re-writing; the tables need to be built smarter than now :) No rudeness intended: The fact that it might not easy for you at Podio to develop this simple table feature of ordering columns according to user liking is not really relevant to us I believe. That Podio tables are coded to only shows table headers in the same order as fields in the App is not a result of user wishes, it seems a (poor) design choice from when the table code was originally developed.

I like Simon's idea of having your list of features being worked on, but I would add that you should include customers on the requirements development for the complete re-write. When I worked in systems engineering, we would include the customer in some capacity, throughout the whole design process. It was essential for complete requirements validation.

one possible cause: this request currently has only 25 votes! so people are wondering about such basic feature lacking, but they seem not to be interested enough to vote. or maybe there are too many threads asking the same thing and therefore only get low votes each.
I never understood why such in my opinion essential features for every day work are not requested and other feature requests are heavily voted that I hardly ever needed...
I was hired as a consultant to develop Podio apps for project tracking. The client had been playing with Podio for a year and thought it would be a good platform for tracking their jobs. I compiled a list of over 25 features that would be a PIECE OF CAKE in a RAD tool like MS Access. I posted a few of them in the forums, upvoted other posts (such as this one, you can see my input in this thread) and made direct contacts with Podio Support via email. All said, it was maybe 8 or 10 issues. In EVERY CASE, the response was either a workaround that caused other unforeseen problems, a "thank you" for my suggestion, or a suggestion to reach out to a third party who could create addins using the API.
I spend a month deep-diving into Podio's capabilities. We were planning on paying for 25-30 licenses and use the workflow tools, but the ever-growing list of insurmountable deficiencies forced us to rethink our choice of platform. I even tried using the fact of us purchasing licenses as leverage to encourage Podio to add my requested enhancements. I could not move the needle on ANY of my issues.
Their support is courteous and timely, and there are many things to like about the tool. My opinion, as stated in numerous other online reviews, is that Podio is great for simple data gathering and collaboration needs, but will be quickly outgrown when its many deficiencies are discovered. We even considered trying other tools such as Wrike, but quickly determined that we would be trading one set of deficiencies for another.
Ultimately, I recommended and programmed a MS Access solution in about two months, and it includes all the features I reported (and more) as missing from Podio.
This is a must! Please!
