    Hi Jen,

Thank you very much for sharing your feedback with us.
I agree with Jean-Claude that for doing what you're describing here, you can install a tasks app. You can see more here: https://help.podio.com/hc/en-us/articles/201038678-Using-a-tasks-app

When you create a task in the tasks app it becomes an item, which you can clone and add a native task to. This means that you can set a custom date to the task item with the native task. I hope this makes sense.

The native tasks in Podio are meant as quick to-dos where the tasks app allows you to work with tasks in more detail.

    I hope this can work?

Hi! So I looked at what you sent over and that's all good - except for one thing. When creating a custom app, there does not seem to be a way to add a "Reminder." I know I can set a "due date," but I want Podio to proactively remind me that something is due (send me an email on a specified date).

In your native tasks, you have the reminder feature, but it fails to let me set a custom "reminder date" - it limits my options to so many hours/days before the due date instead of giving me a calendar to select my desired reminder date.

If I can't add the "reminder" feature via my own custom app, which task apps out there offer this feature (so I can schedule Podio to send me a reminder on a specific date)? The example app on the page you sent does not include this feature either. Please advise? Thanks!

    Hi Jen,

Then I recommend adding a task to your task item in the tasks app. You find the option to add a task in the very bottom of your task item. This task is related to the native tasks and can function as a reminder for the task item.

I can for example share that when we book meetings in Podio we have an automatic task created saying "remember to book meeting room". This is added as a native task in Podio but really functions as a reminder for the item.

I hope this all makes sense.

Well, adding a Task to a Task item doesn't really solve the redundancy problem I'm having. Using the Task App solves the problem of duplicating tasks. However, if I have to create a task within a task to get my reminder set to where I want it, I'm still being asked to create two tasks instead of one. Do you guys have usability testers? Seems like you need some... The only way to fix this is to make the reminder date customizable in the native Tasks. If that's not possible, then I'll have to re-evaluate my subscription. Thanks anyway for trying.....

Fair enough Jen, I appreciate your honesty.

Sometimes the wording is also confusing, because I agree adding a task to a task seems illogical.
If you think of the "sub-task" as a reminder maybe it can make more sense.

An alternative is to create a tasks app from scratch and make it an event app instead of a standard app. This app will have the reminder function associated with the date field, and your tasks created in an event app will go into your calendar.

You can see more about creating an app from scratch here: https://help.podio.com/hc/en-us/articles/201019278-Creating-apps-
