Hi guys,
I got some good news to share with you today :-)
You can now add animated GIFs to your conversations in Podio! To do so simply type "::" plus any keyword to search for your favourite in the GIF database.

Hi Richie,
Thank you very much for adding your comment here. It helps us a lot to understand your use case for this feature in order to justify potentially adding it.
We are discussing the different options internally and we might be able to see animated gifs in Podio in the future.
If/when we do, we will be sure to let you know.

@ Mette, thanks for letting me know!
There use case here is all about web banner production. Currently we have two options,
A) to place them on a own site (which is time consuming) and send a link to the clients or
B) we upload them into the app item. But then the clients need to download them an drag them into a empty browser window.Would be better to click on a preview in the item and then see the animated gif.
Best, Richie

@Sara, I was referring to the idea of explainer GIFs https://www.commoncraft.com/explainerGIFs

The issue is this - uploaded animated gifs do not show as animated to end users when their placedholder is clicked in the timeline.
To reproduce:
- Enter a general status
- attach a working animated gif
On the new status in the activity stream, when you click on a placeholder:
Expected functionality: popup opens with the original file animating (or at least a play button to start animation)
Current unexpected result: popup opens with a podio generated snapshot of the last frame of the animated gif. User does not know that they need to download the original file to see the animated gif.
