Default column sort order for card layout
Sorry if this has been asked and answered but I cannot find mention.
What determines the default sort order for cards added to a column or row? With a card layout that has columns based on a category field, if I change the status of a card via the category field rather than drag and drop...what determines where the card will land in the order for the new status column. Is it creation date? Can it be changed (please)?
If I have used the column to prioritize items, I expect newly added items to be added to the top or bottom, but often they appear in the middle which breaks any manual ordering such as priority.

In addition to the card layout, I'd be most interested in being able to change the default sort on the default all items view. It would also be great to be able to apply a manual sort as well so if my card view is arranged a certain way, I can preserve that sort order on the table view as well.

In App Settings you can choose the "Standard Layout" such as table, but it would be very handy to add a selection to choose the sort order as well. I almost always want alphabetical, but the "All ..." default view is fixed at order created which is frustrating and requires creating a custom public view which is confusing to users.

I know this is an old thread but are we any closer to getting user defined sort on the card layout. My use case is based on using the card layout for CRM opportunity stages, and have a 'follow up date' in the app, which I need to sort from earliest to latest in the card view. I know I can sort on date with other views but the card view is very useful to visually display items from my CRM app which show the sale's stage of each opportunity, and need to see items requiring follow up at top of screen/list.

I'd like to rearrange the rows of the cards either alphabetically or manual order.
At the moment I have a "Rented" status row appearing above the "Available" status row, which is annoying becasue if a unit is rented, I dont need it at the top of the list. I still want to see all the units, but would prefer to have the "Available" ones visible at the top.
