Script returned an unsupported result type

This is an urgent matter as we encountered this error during a campaign that's due tomorrow morning.

I am seeing this error when I try to create a calculation field where @all of related item first name (outgoing) returns the error.

What can I do to fix it?

  There is another calc field in the same app with exactly the same reference that is working.

  Extracting text field from App 1 to App 2 

  @rainer solution is good. 

  App 1 needs to have data, otherwise, it will throw an error.
