Ability to customize content of an item without modifying the whole template

Creating content could be much more flexible and productive if there was a way to customize it on per item basis, without necessarily modifying the whole template for all items. For example, I often have need to add the Description field multiple times, or include two maps for a particular item (only this one).

It would be great if I could also modify the name of the field on per item basis. For instance, in this particular item I'd like to use the regular Description field and call it Option 1. Then I'd like to add another Description field (again, without modifying the whole template) and call it Option 2, and so on.

  I would love it if we could set up multiple templates within an app, based on, say, catagory
