    Hi Martin,

    that is indeed a strange behavior. I do not know why this happens, but as a workaround you can add a space before or after, like so:

    dateSplit[2] + " ";

    Strangely enough that seems to work (but than the result of your calculation obviously is text, not a number.

    BTW: Have you thought about collecting the data in a regular date-field and use a calculation field to format it the way you want? That way you don't have to worry about malformed entries, plus you can use the date in filters and widgets... -- Just a thought.

    Hi Stefan,
    thanks, that extra space did the trick. I did not use the regular date field because the form gets used to collect user-input on a German website and I did not want to confuse them with the "dd/mm/yyyy" label. Thus far the collection has worked very well, but I wished the date input field could be customized so I could avoid false entries.
