Collapsible Sections in an App
It would be cool if you could create named sections in an app, that you could collapse. Some of our apps are getting pretty unwieldy and there's a lot of scrolling involved. In the app maker if you could also select a default as to which sections where collapsed and which weren't when you open it up.

Thanks for sharing, cool idea :)
For now, the hidden fields might be what you need: https://help.podio.com/hc/en-us/articles/202482408-Showing-or-hiding-fields-in-an-app?

Oh and Sara, the hidden fields are great, but only if the field is empty. Sometimes though it's nocce to be able to collapse certain parts of the app, when not in use or to avoid endless scrolling.
We look very much forward to get even more use out of Podio, when this has been updated! :-)

I've been thinking about this for a while myself, it would greatly improve the functionality because it would easily allow multiple forms in one page without the confusion of scrolling through sections of questions. Failing that the ability to clearly label sections without hacking a category field would suffice but would be no comparison to actual collapsible fields.

I made the exact same request here in July 2014: https://help.podio.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/201348533-Collapsible-Sub-Categories-within-Apps
This would make Podio SO much more user-friendly. Our team really appreciates Podio overall, but there are a few limitations (like this one) that are holding us back from using it for more! -
Well since this has popped back up, lets add some feature creep. :P
Would be even cooler if you could have a coloured band to denote a collapsed section. On the band it would have the name of the section and also display data from a selected field entry or two. Next you could add access control, so only certain users could uncollapse said section.
But from basic ideas to actual implementation that would work are miles apart from one another, so not sure if this would really work.
Anyway, keep up the great work Podio team! We are still loving it.

I use a lot of categories with drop down boxes, but the drop downs can sometimes be confusing when searching through the complete app, and I generally end up setting them un "Inline".
It would be really helpful if there was the ability to have category fields expanded or contracted, and set as per the "last view".

I've been asking for this for years.... YEARS... Here is my "mock up" - https://ibb.co/knU44F

I think that this is the suggestion that I am looking for (so that I don't add my own but piggyback with others). Even if the sections did not collapse, which would be a nice bonus, a Text Section Header would be a nice start. It would at least visually separate the sections. It could even be a field in the template where we are able to enter static text that appears bolded and/or underlined or with a trailing line.

We are really hitting the limits of what is still user friendly. We simply have a lot of different things automated in Podio, and therefor a lot of things connected to some apps (like Accounts in CRM).
Even though I love Podio and our ±50ppl business runs on it, I am always looking for alternatives because of this lack. It just becomes a mess.
Collapsable sections would be a massive upgrade. If I can wish for a bit more, it would be even cooler if we could adopt a 2-column layout in certain sections. Ideally per section we would be able to choose if it collapses by default, or not. -
I was just searching for this, so I just wanted to comment to keep this request alive. This is definitely something we need. Our team struggles with using apps that require a lot of scrolling. Podio can be overwhelming for new employees and with how much information we store, so it is hard to get employees to engage and use. I think a functionality like this would make it so much more user friendly.

Hi Amanda,
Thank you for contacting us here with your request and please excuse the lateness of my reply! My deepest apologies that we currently do not offer this feature in Podio. However, what I have done is to update our feature request list to include your comments and concerns with regard to it.
While we do not have an estimation as to when we would expect that to be rolled into the platform, I will definitely let our development team know that this is a feature that is greatly desired and would enhance your experience with Podio.
Have a safe and wonderful day!
All the best,
Dana - Podio
