    Hi all,

I'm happy to let you know that voting and rating is now possible in the new release for the iOS app, which is live today.

Thanks for sharing your feedback with us and helping us to continuously improve Podio.

    Have a great day.

    Best,

    Mette

+1 We really need to be able to use voting/radio buttons on the mobile app as well.

We hope to add this option in the future yes! Unfortunately I cannot promise a specific timeframe - we hope to be able to add features from web to mobile in the coming months :)

    Hi everyone,

We're looking into making the Podio app better for you and we need your help to do this.

It would be a tremendous help if you could help us with developing the app by sharing your mobile use cases with these topics:

    1. What kind of mobile devices do you use? And when are you using them?

    2. To what extend do you use your mobile device for business / work purposes?

    3. What else do you use on your phone?

    4. How do you use Podio on mobile?

    5. What is most important for you to access through the Podio app?

    6. If you could have options to personalize your apps - what would this contain?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    /Mette

    Hi Mette,

Our organization may be a bit different than most of your customers - we are a non-profit writers' association Board of Directors - but here are my answers……the mobile app is crucial to our work so I hope this is helpful:

    1. iPhones, iPads, and Android phones. Many of our BoD Members travel and use smartphones or tablets in place of laptops, which is frequently.

    2. Extensively, as do most people these days

    3. Too many uses to list them all, as I imagine most will answer - smartphones and tablets are quickly becoming the go-to replacement for computers while traveling, whether for work or pleasure, so they're used by us for email, texting, conference calls, and Podio, amongst the many other uses.

    4. We all use the Podio App except when we need to use a few of the Apps (in Podio) that require voting….we have several of those and it's a big part of what we do as a board of directors - we vote on a lot of stuff…..when we need to vote on something we must use the Browser to access podio.com and login from there….it's a workaround, but far from ideal as everything is tiny - the site is not mobile-friendly - so it requires a lot of zooming in to read items, and zooming out to move around.

    5. What isn't? Everything really - Podio is our primary communication tool so all features need to be accessible via the Podio App,

    6. Besides adding support for voting, making it easier to @mention individuals or the entire workspace in comments.

Good luck with this project….we're looking forward to the pending improvements!

    Hi Mette,

I could not agree more with Trisha's comments.

Podio has rapidly become our intranet for virtually all matters from business matters to client communications, we have realised it maybe possible to replace our internal servers & databases with Podio.

Workflow & business logic are one thing but being able to get quick voting feedback would help managers make quicker decisions on were to allocate resources.

With the advent of BYOD it seems sensible, we are seeing traffic from mobile devices accounting for over 50% of use and climbing.

I find myself everyday looking to see whats new and how Podio is advancing ... Excellent product.

Just a reminder we use Podio for the organisation of our sport team and not for work.

    1. What kind of mobile devices do you use? And when are you using them?
I use iPhone but my team also use Android and Nokia. Nokia doesn't even have the app available on their app store. Everyone uses their phone frequently.

    2. To what extend do you use your mobile device for business / work purposes?
Never for work. Multiple times a day for the team

    3. What else do you use on your phone?
The obvious call/texting, Social media, the occasional game

    4. How do you use Podio on mobile?
We use it to get an idea of attendance, game availability (calendar and voting buttons), posting helpful links and videos for tips, links to previous game footage for reviewing, event planning, a clear place for important documents like our Code of Conduct etc.

    5. What is most important for you to access through the Podio app?
I feel everything that is available on desktop should be available in the mobile app. On the desktop I put a long note on each workspace explaining to people how to use Podio and make the most from it to hopefully make things a bit clearer, yet this is not displayed on the mobile app so we have had a lot of confusion surrounding it.

    6. If you could have options to personalize your apps - what would this contain?
      Voting buttons.
Being able to see who and what people have voted for when they have used the desktop site to vote.
When adding someone to a workspace being able to choose their "Role" like you can on desktop.
When an app is set out in the card layout on Desktop, you cannot see the items separated into the categories on the mobile app.
I also find the method of moving between workspaces slightly confusing. It's ok once you understand what to do but I think that has also cause confusion for our less "tech savvy" users.

We're a non-profit kindness organisation, and our volunteers are all around the world, so being reachable via mobile device is pretty much a must. However, sometimes even doing the simplest thing (such as confirming attendance at a meeting) can't be done by some of our volunteers because they can't see that field within the mobile app.

Here are our answers to Mette's questions:

    1. Our volunteers mostly use either Apple mobile devices (iPhone/iPad) or Android phones/tablets. Some of our volunteers only have mobile devices, so they use them all the time.

    2. Most of our volunteers use their mobile devices extensively during the course of completing their work for us - particularly as they can often be working at unusual hours (for example, it's after midnight in my timezone but I'm awake and working with someone in another timezone).

    3. As we're staffed by volunteers and we're a non-profit, all of our volunteers use their personal mobile devices, so the short answer is: everything.

    4. Most of our staff use the app for almost everything, but struggle to complete some of their work because the app doesn't have the right functionality (such as being able to vote/confirm attendance at meetings)

    5. The ability to vote/confirm meeting attendance is our biggest thing that's missing from the app!

    6. Have personalised shortcuts to workspaces/apps on the home page.

    Thanks! :)

So please this has now been updated! Another similar query, is it now possible to get the attendance of events viewable on the mobile app also? Currently you can only see who has been invited and not who has said yes or no

    Hey Nicola,

Please create a new question/idea so we can keep track of your feedback in a separate post :)

But yes, this is a great idea and something we also hope to add in the future!
