    Hi David,

With a full HD display 5" working on a browser on my Android is pretty good. The web version has a lot more options. I would prefer a choice. Sometimes the app is handy but sometimes not. Your suggestion about the calendar is indeed suitable for the app but seeing tasks of an item not. It's a fifty-fifty.

    Hi everyone,

We're looking into making the Podio app better for you and we need your help to do this.

It would be a tremendous help if you could help us with developing the app by sharing your mobile use cases with these topics:

    1. What kind of mobile devices do you use? And when are you using them?

    2. To what extend do you use your mobile device for business / work purposes?

    3. What else do you use on your phone?

    4. How do you use Podio on mobile?

    5. What is most important for you to access through the Podio app?

    6. If you could have options to personalize your apps - what would this contain?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    /Mette

Mette, should we answer your questions here or is there another forum post or discussion topic elsewhere devoted to mobile app development/improvements?

What kind of mobile devices do you use? And when are you using them?
I use an iPhone 5 more or less constantly. I don't use anything else.

To what extend do you use your mobile device for business / work purposes?
All of the services and data that I use for work are available through my phone as much as possible (email, calendar, tasks lists, Podio) so I can look at them when I'm not at a computer or when my computer is shut down and packed away. I move around a lot to work at multiple locations and I use the mobile access to capture new ideas and information that I get while in transit.

What else do you use on your phone?
I use several third-party mail and calendar clients that access my Gmail account and my corporate Exchange account. This is so I can get everything in one view and some of the third-party apps have features that aren't available stock (such as snoozing calendar reminders)

How do you use Podio on mobile?
I use it to review filtered views of app data that I've createt through the web app. Sometimes I go in and update certain app data items on the fly (like serial numbers for equipment I maintain). It would be really useful to be able to sort and filter an app's data on the fly if I wanted to view something that I hadn't pre-saved in the Web app.

What is most important for you to access through the Podio app?
The most important thing that is missing is the ability to review the Podio app's calendar in the mobile app. I use two different calendar views - one that publishes to my Exchange calendar which only shows certain events, and the one inside the Podio web app which shows everything. When I'm mobile I can see "my" calendar but I can't see the "everything" calendar at a glance.

If you could have options to personalize your apps - what would this contain?
I think the apps I already have are quite customized. I can't see a need to be able to edit the apps themselves on the phone although some tablet users may want to do this.

Thank you very much for helping us out David.

Your response will go into our extended research on mobile use cases, so we can review it in further development of the app.

    Best,

    Mette

    Hi David,

Thanks a lot for answering our questions on your mobile usage!

I just saw that you want to see only your personal calendar on the iPhone. That's actually possible:
    - In your app settings you can select which calendar events you want to see (all, only yours etc.)
    - When you go to a workspace and then select the calendar you will only see the events that live in apps in this workspace. I guess you probably only have one meeting app per workspace, right?

    Does this help?

    Best,
    Tina

Hi Tina, yes, I am able to do that no problem. What is more difficult is to have a second "view" on the mobile phone where I can also see the "global" view of everyone's assignments and events. We also have other apps (besides a base Meeting or Event app) that contain date information that is published on the master Calendar view in Web Podio. This is why I would like to be able to view the Calendar view from Web Podio inside the mobile app. I do not like using Web Podio on the mobile browser for several reasons; 1, I prefer a small format phone and the small screen doesn't work well, 2, I use complex passwords with a password-keeper that is not compatible with mobile Safari so I like the mobile app because it just stays logged-in and I never have to retype my hard-to-remember and hard-to-type password.

This thread is from almost three years ago but I'm still seeing the same behavior of Podio links opened from within the Podio app chat client opening a browser window.  These urls should open in the app.  Any progress on this issue?
