    Hi everyone!

As of just a few moments ago, cards are now customizable! The card layout now has an updated design and lets you choose which fields are shown in your cards.

To find this option, click the wrench icon in the upper left for your app, then go to "Layout Options" and find the "Card Layout" tab at the top.

Thanks a lot to everyone who shared feedback on this here - we hope this new functionality will make the card layout even better for you!

Hi Rueben. The card is made up of three sections. The first will display the text of the first field in the item, the second will show a picture (and nothing else as far as I can make out) if one is present. The bottom section displays any contacts in your item.

Would be great to be able to customise the cards as needed...

+1 on customizing cards, badges are great, but we find ourselves, especially in agile, using card layout more than anything and since we can't add the client name to a card, we are stuck having to prefix the task names with cumbersome client abbreviations

    Hi everyone,

This is definitely something we'll be looking at next, now that badges are customizable :)

Adding another +1 here for this feature! I have sorted projects by in-progress, etc. It would be great to be able to put the project title there instead of having the column say in-progress and have all the items say the same.

    @Christopher,

Thanks for adding your vote on this!

In this case you should be able to instead show the Title by modifying the app template and place the Title field as the very first field in your app. It's the first field that by default is shown in the Card.

Yes that would be great to customize it

Ability to colour cards based on a category would be great so that you can then have three aspects: columns, rows and colours!

Hey Chris - no news to share on this yet. Customizing badges got pushed down the list a bit so it unfortunately isn't something we're currently prioritizing.

This is a real shame... Customizing cards would be the ultimate... we still use Podio KANBAN style and it is so TACKY to to prefix our projects & deliverables with client abbreviations or any other information to make them distinguishable, when a customizable card would solve all of it...

Thumbs up for customizable cards. We are using them Kanban-style, and need to put in client names in the card view. Any news? Thanks for a great products! all the best, Kjell Inge

It is absolutely crucial for using a kanban chart that you implement 2 things:

    1. Colors that are chosen in statuses are shown on the cards.

    2. Ability to modify what is displayed on the cards. Most important to see our due dates on the cards

It would also be nice if we could add our own sound when moving a card to a new status, to "celebrate" a new status.

It's a no-brainer in order to get working Kanban-workflow in podio.

Any news on this one? The card view is (almost) useless if you can't customize which values you want to display.

If I could have upvoted this more I would have. JACQUELYN, what's the status of this? My devs have been crying out for this for over a year, and now, the dev team is looking at exploring JIRA just for this reason... :-(

I agree with everything said here.

We have just started building a critical new feature to our podio using the card/ KanBan layout and I stupidly assumed I would be able to customise the layout.

This seems to me to be not an added bonus but rather a neccessity for what this layout is geared towards acheiving.

    Hey all,

We have this on our radar and also part of our vision for the product direction in the future. As we release customised badges and reference layouts last year, it will be natural to provide same option for card.

In general we do want to bring more color to Podio and work on core improvements (like this) for the platform.

No timeframe just yet but it is on our long-term roadmap!

Keep the feedback coming around use-cases as this will help us figure out the best solution here. What are the most important fields to see for example?

I will move this thread to the Feature Request forum.

We are using the cards Kanban-style. As mentioned by several people in this tread, it would be great to see the following on the cards

    • The colour of the chosen Category (the entire card – or fill in the heading?)

Free customization of which fields to show on the card. For us:

    • Title
    • Client name
    • Contact (who's responsible in the team) - picture?
    • Date (due date)
    • Image(s)

It would also be nice to be able to (optionally) _restrict_ the number of possible cards in each category. Assuming the Kanban board have 5 columns – Catalogue, On Deck, Doing, Waiting for Feedback, Done – we don't allow for more than 6 cards in the On Deck category, and 3 in the Doing category. This makes everything clearer; when you have to choose which ones to place where, it makes for more focused work. Right now, we do this manually, which is ok – but enables us able to cheat. ;-)

There you go! Thanks for your reponse.

    Hi Sara,

Things that we could use on the cards (added in my personal priority):

        1. Text field

        2. Add a transparent "add item name" (green button in right top corner) in the bottom of each status in card-view, that can be used to prefill the status/statuses in a card-view to enhance the time spend of adding items.

        3. Contact

        4. Relationship.

        5. Genereal product request - Stopwatch. For very long I've wanted to monitor     time spend directly in Podio

        6. Date. And especially end date or start date; without need of adding the   other parameter!

    Notes to colors:

You already show the colours of coloured statuses in a table-view and badge-view. A card-view is all about statuses, and here you suddenly don't show them? That makes no sense. Especially because it enchances a Kanban-system, which is widely used as colored post-it's in most organisations today. It's a very accepted workflow and LEAN method. Under options you can both base the rows and columns on a status. So we would need ability to select which status-field that has color priority.

    Notes to sound:

Would love to upload a sound to a specific status-change. Definitely don't want PowerPoint-like blunders with clapping hands or laughing people. We need our unique own files. It is a feature that makes one or a team able to celebrate small victories in a fun way, which is really productive. Then it could play a unique 5-60 sec file related to the responisble contact.

We need different colorcodes for cards. It would be perfect to customise this. Colors for a person, or for a category would be perfect. And if we just can check, if a information is visible on the card.

I'm gonna go ahead and BUMP this one again.. since everyone is responding...  maybe it will light a fire... My dev team is now seriously considering moving over to JIRA which is going to really KILL a lot of what we do in Podio, since Podio doesn't have these capabilities yet...
