Calculating project total from varied deliverable rates

Hi
We are creating a set of deliverables with various rates that relate to Monthly projects. We have our staff using Timesheets based on deliverable and Monthly project. this allows us to bill our client on a monthly basis. However, due to the fact that our deliverable rates vary, we cannot build a calculation that provides an accurate Project Amount for each month. The only calculation available to us is AVG/SUM/Min or Max. Is there a better way or do I have to create monthly deliverables for each monthly project?
