Hi Sara, thanks for your post. I looked at the customer story you pointed out. Overall it would be interesting to be able to connect to professionals within a specific industry. Within the AEC (Architects, Engineering, Construction) business Podio could be of great value but it is hard to figure out who is using it and how they are using it. Is Podio thinking about how this could be done or are there any plans to bring industry specific professionals together?

    Great question :)

I think what you have done already (create a post in the Community) is a good start - hopefully other Podio users will find your post and be able to contact you based on this.

We don't have a real solution to this at this point, hopefully we can think about creating the option in the future - thanks for the input.

    Hey Emmanuel

I have a small arhitecture company and I use Podio to track all my plans submission at the local council.

for each project I track when the plans are submitted to council and when it has been collected. It seldom gets approved the first time. There are usually some changes and corrections required by different council departments. The plans get changed and submitted again. This can happen another second time before it is appoved.

The lifespan of such a plan can be between 2 months to a year, and with about 30 projects running one has to keep track. If the client needs to know when plans have been submitted or collected it is easy to get the dates.

I also have an independant consultant who does the admin at council. I created a workspace where I allocated jobs, and on a map where the documents need to be collected or submitted. I have also created a file category where I save the plans and a commentary section where the task is explaned. He can then access this info at home and plan his route and week.

I am not using Podio in the construction stage.

    +1

A simple user forum with sections based on industry would be really helpful. We specialize in real estate investment and construction and would find it valuable to collaborate with others.
