Option to Hide/Minimize the Activity Stream?
The AS takes up so much room. Can it be lessened?
-
Hi, I second this. The ability to reduce or hide the activiy stream would allow for the activity stream to become a much more useful dashboard for a workspace. Also, there seems to be so much dead space within in app when scrolling down with the tiles, reports all bunched on the right hand side. Again, a dashboard view utilsiing this dead space would be fantastic.

Agree on that.
As discussed here as well «https://help.podio.com/hc/en-us/articles/201018898-Activity-Streams?page=1» it would be nice to hide and/or move the actitiy stream like any other app. -
I really agree on this feature request. I'm trying to implement Podio across our business and it's going really well except that my collegues find the UI quite messy and hard to navigate. To solve this we have implemented personal dashboards for everyone with a clear view of only the information and tasks they need to know which also works as shortcuts to the correct places within the UI. But, everyone is really confused by the activity-streams since it have no purpose in the way we use it but still takes up half the dashboard. Even if I hide all posts from the activity stream it stills locks half the screen and refuses to put any other app-widgets below it.
To summarize, in this case less is more so please make it possible to hide the activity stream so we can focus on the information that apply value to our business, not the internal feed of Podio.

I have seen 30 comments on this request I made back on 4/24/14. I have now have a specific recommendation: Why not add the ">" open and "<" close option to the Activity Stream? That would recover all of that screen space to allow for more tiles. Better: add the option of "Default Open" or "Default Close" to the above option. Thoughts?

This was bugging me as well. I was able to use the Stylebot Chrome extension to add a few lines of custom CSS to hide the activity stream window as well as make the property editors wider. I haven't tested this much yet so I'm not sure if it causes any other issues. Also, this may break if the html/css on podio changes. In Stylebot, add the following styles for podio.com
.item-content-body {
width: 1195px;
}.item-activity-wrapper {
visibility: hidden;

I vote for this too! I understand that the Activity Stream is supposed to be for Collaborative purposes, but it's apparent that many Podio users do not need this so much. If we just had the options to "hide" it, re-size it, or at least move it to the bottom of the Activity page, that would be helpful. We utilize the Activity page as a Dashboard as well, since all of our apps are "locked down" to prevent users from adding/deleting (they have to use webforms). Our Activity page is mainly used to provide webforms to each App, important news headlines, specific files, etc. Is there any ETA on when this feature "might" be available?

We're a pr firm and I love Podio for what we do. We use apps for internal management and also for projects with clients. However, after 2 years of working with our team to show them how to use it, they still place things in the activity stream instead of in a folder (because it is there, and on the first page). I like the activity feed in general, I just wish I could turn off the "post" feature up at the top so that they would put stuff where it goes. Things will get lost in the activity feed if they place them there.
It would be nice to be able to at least turn that off.
Thanks for your consideration! -
Over 4 years and still no update to allow the Activity Stream to be hidden. Can it surely be that difficult to do when it is so highly requested?
We have no requirement for the activity stream in our business. It just takes up screen space and I would much rather have my tiles from my workspaces take up more room.

so frustrating this has yet to be addressed. Such a simple change. I abandoned Podio because of this sadly, however for my workflow I wanted to use the main screen as a pinned browser tab with all my info. it makes the side you can customize end up needing a scroll to see important info which did not work for me.

I'd like to weigh in on this as well. Personally, the Activity Stream is not useful to me on my home page. I follow multiple workspaces with varying degrees of importance to my daily tasks. Ideally, the following changes to the Activity Stream would make for a better product that is adaptable to different work styles:
- Allow the Activity Stream to be disabled/ closed
- Allow the Activity Stream to be moved (My personal preference would be to keep it and move it to the bottom of my screen)
- Allow the Activity Stream to be customized (select which workspaces to display or allow multiple streams for various workspaces that can be arranged on the screen to the user's preference)
