Web forms updating an existing item.Answered
Is it possible to update a certain item through web forms? and what is the possible ways to update items in an application.
It is currently not possible to update items via the webform. It is a great idea though - I have moved your question to the "Feature Requests" section so other people can vote for your idea :)
You can update the item manually - and fast if you hit "e" on your keyboard to edit.
You can update the item via excel import:
And via the developers API: https://developers.podio.com/
You can also update via drag and drop using the card layout: https://help.podio.com/hc/en-us/articles/201019758-App-layouts

It's an interesting feature, and if there is more interest in it, it might draw attention of our product managers. However, since there are quite a few other ways to update an item, I don't have any news regarding possibility to do so via a webform, I'm afraid.

I would add to this. Here's a use case... Say I send out event invitations to a predefined list. I want attendees to come back and say "yes" or "no" I'm coming.
I don't want them to fill in and create a new attendee, just update the status of an existing attendee.
I think I can hack my way around it, but it would be great if this was possible with a webform+permalink flow.
I could certainly use this feature & I'm trying my best to try to find a way around this. I have events with specifications that cannot normally be addressed instantly by my clients. If my clients were able to update the form to update their previous information it that would save so much time.
Actually Momentumtools has launched a great extension for this. I've implemented it with one customer and it works great. Very easy to set up. https://momentumtools.io/podio-forms
