Employee/User Settings Customized - Hide Apps
My idea/suggestion is to give full control to the company owner/admin in which they can control not only what "work spaces" an employee/vendor sees but also what "apps" they have access too. This will allow the owners of companies to protect proprietary processes and serve to simplify what an employee sees so they can focus on a task they were hired for without seeing all these other "apps".

This is a huge disadvantage to podio. If I don't find a solution to this, I'm going to have to go elsewhere. This ruins ones ability to efficiently run a business via crm.
Without this, my workflow is now broken down to this....
I sell an account in my sales workspace,
I have to copy and paste all important relevent account information itno an accounting workspace....
...then a project management workspace
...then a customer service workspace..
...etc. etc. What's worse is that if an employee updates their version of the "account" (i.e. contact info, product info, etc.) it isn't updated across workspaces unless someone manually does this...and that someone would obviously have to be me, since I would be the only one with access to every workspace.
without this necessary feature I'd go from running my business to becoming a data entry employee, instead of helping my business do more important things like increasing sales, product development, improving customer experience, etc.
....dang. I just might have to continue my crm search. :/

Hi guys,
Thanks a lot for you input and feedback on this. Placing the app in another workspace and invite the member to this is the way to go as it looks today. We do hear this from time to time though and I can see a 'Share app' feature could be a good add-on. I've shared all of your inputs with the team and we'll review it for future tweaks.
Thanks again for sharing and we'll keep you posted on any updates!

This is the biggest issue out team is facing now that apps in a workspace are visible to everyone.
It makes sense if everyone are involved in everything.
But in some cases we have teams that are related to specific apps and not other ones. We would like to have ability to simply hide some apps from their view, they could see (or not - option would be even better) relationships to other apps, but would have no access to them.
This would make Podio so much flexible!
Now in order to hide apps - we have to make new workspace - make extremely complicated relationships to other apps in other workspaces... instead of simply hiding one or two apps in the main workspace.
Can not believe this post was created in 2014 and still no progress...
Please Podio consider this.

The problem with moving the app to another workspace in which the mentioned user has access, is that it is no longer available for those in the original workspace. The problem with cloning the app is that updates to one workspace are not copied into the other workspace.
For example: we have a series of documents we use frequently, and update from time to time, which are all in one app. Some we use in one workspace shared with certain folks while others in another workspace used by an entirely different set of people.
If we had an external web page, we could store them there and reference them anywhere inside of Podio. My workaround, which uses way tooo many clicks, is to create a tile in each workspace with links to Podio's url for each relevant item. Then I open each url and share the item with the members of that workspace. This way I can update the items and the link is still current.
Podio, if I can do this in such a cumbersome way, can't you do it more gracefully?
